70+ MPH with a 7.4 MPI? Is that right? I have the same engine in my 232 (only 2 feet longer) and the best (and I mean the BEST) I have seen on GPS is 61.4. Is that two feet really worth 10 MPH?

Sean,
I have a 2001 Hammer with the 7.4 MPI. I don't have tabs on it, and I need a different prop. I ran 64 GPS this weekend with 3 guys and 3/4tank (45 gallons) of gas. With a better prop and a lighter load, this boat could hit 70 easily. |

I will vouch for that speed on dloftis's boat. We were wacking the limiters pretty good with this set up. Also the 64 was in 2-4 chop at times, little rough of a ride, but it was a lot of fun!
I honestly think that with a K&N flame arrestor and a new prop, and a few other tweaks this boat could pick up 5-10MPH from where it is! The hammers will move. Also this is one of the most fun power boats I have been on in a long long time! |
Oh and IT NEEDS TABS! LOL

I know, I know! ;) K-Planes are going to get ordered.
I think I'm going to do the K&N and the prop first. Little less expensive. I could get some cheapie tabs, but I would rather save my money and get good ones. |
