Nice collection you've got going. I really liked the 220 but it would beat you when the chop got too heavy. Also bought a Sport 210 new in '87, went very well for a 350 Mag. Back in those days, they held their value extremely well, when we traded the 210 and later the 220, we got more than we paid new! Kept that 280 here in Maine for 12 seasons

The 220 I have has the 260 Merc. for power. The 210 was a much better riding hull with 20 deg. bottom than the 15 deg. 220, but the 220 was SO good looking when comparing the two. The Sport 196 was even better with small block power. It was fast, but had a great ride as a shorter version of the 210 hull, but I liked the deck styling better. IMO

That 280 was a sweet ride Kurt! I remember seeing that boat at the docks in Harrison quite often. Visiting the Caswell I presume?

I guess I was a Baja guy too! Here's some shots of our 280 back in the late 80's (the kid in the boat is ME )

We had several Baja's when I was young, I remember going to the factory in Bucyrus when the red boat was being built. Cool memories.

I'm curious, what was yuck about the 38 Special???

The only complaints I have with mine is how large the load is on my trailer and my piss poor fuel consumption.
On the other hand, I love the size of my cockpit and the headroom in my salon.
I guess it's a give and take world, to get what you like sometimes you take a little of what you dislike on the same plate.

See ya,
Kelly
