I have neons under the storage compartments in the gunwales for the cockpit. I know I need to get with the times. Can't find any pics.
I run these in my cabin. Direct replacement for the factory ones. |
This is what i did in my Fountain. I changed out the old factory lights that didnt work with these LED strip lights from Ebay.
It only cost me around $20 total to do. Here is a link to the lights. They are great lights and i never had a problem with them. The wires are extremely thin. Just letting you know. http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-LEDs-Flex...#ht_1666wt_932 Here is a photo. http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r...tain/cabin.jpg |

I replaced all my courtesy lightbulbs (168 wedge style) with SMD LED bulbs from SuperBrightLEDs.com. The only problem is the new LEDs are slightly longer so I have to make gaskets to shim out the covers a bit.

I have 20 of these TRI color LEDs inside my rig. Very nice. apeirons tri colors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0g2SMn7seCA (Im not pimping the sales company- justthe light) Uncle Dave |
I bought 5 meters (about 16ft) of waterproof LED's and I am thinking about putting them on the inside of my swim platform, I have the older style (non tubular) swim platform and figured the lights shining down into the water would look cool.
I would also like to put 2 lengths down the rails of my trailer, shining "up" towards the boat, but, will have to check with the local police first. If it turns ok and DOESN'T look like a low budget strip joint or 1970's disco bar I will post pics. |

89Notch, where all did you run them? Looks like they are just under the side pad at the bottom. Also where did you get them?

89notch, did you just stick them to the bottom side of the side pad? I am trying to find something that the lights are mounted vertical so I can loosen the pad and sandwich it behind them and the hull.

Really, so they are actually shining outwards but once you cover them up they shine down thru the gap?
