#11
I had a 1979 Cobra jet 17'7" v hull with jet drive, was blue and silver metal flake, was a badd azz MOFO!!!
I used to tow it with my converted to 4wd EL CAMINO with gumbo mdders and proudly parked it in my TRAILER PARK right out front of MY TRAILER!!! Had the name acrossed the back like every other hillrod: LOVE SHACK 2 !!! I even got a matching TATOO of the boat on my ARM!! That biotch was a PUZZY magnet, when you pulled up in front of the bar wit it dem women just THREW themselves at ME!! It even RAN a couple times but not towards the end, I just DISPLAYED it as a STATUS symbol!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I am dating myself, but I had the ElCamino with the metal flake paint job. Wish I could find the picture. It was: metal Flake Royal Blue, and red racing stripes with the SS emblem inlayed as well. One thing though, those sparkles didn't only grab attention of my pears, I was "too well" known by the local PD...

I love seeing an older boat that is kept in immaculate condition - I don't care what it is, I can appreciate what goes into preserving something like this.
That being said, I recall a 68 Firebird convertible that a friend of my brothers bought back in the late 70's. It had a white metal flake paint job on it that was checking badly and had to come off. Man, that stuff was a ***** to remove! This was way back before you had soda blasting and easy stuff like that. We had to use razor blades and about a case of 36 grit DA paper. The door and trunk jambs were just heaven!
