I want to remove the middle section of floor on my 24 outlaw. And possibly remove gas tank. I want to make sure the stringers are good and clean it out. Has anyone done this? Is the middle section attached with more than just the screws? What about the gas tank? Any pics would be helpful.

You'll have to remove your rear seat, your bolsters and then the middle section of the floor should come up as long as you can see the screws, if they are under the carpet you would have to pull that up to get them. You may also have to remove the lower door track to be able to get the tank out.

Then the gas-tank is screwed into the stringers, and more than likely you'll have a couple of the mounting tabs broken off from hull flex. As long as the tank is pretty much empty you can use a strap around the filler and outlet fittings and lift it out. When empty, mine was easy to move around by myself.

Unless you have reason to get in there and do this, it is a lot of work just to 'clean' things.

Thanks guys. I already have the rear seat, motor, transom assembly out. I just need to remove the bolsters. So I'm thinking while I have it this far, maybe I should check between the stringers.

If you are that far it wouldn't be too much more to pull it up and take a look. I think you can slide the floor piece out without removing the lower door track piece, but I don't think you'll have enough room to lift the entire tank out, without removing it.

I'm sure the fuel tank cavity is probably pretty dirty from bilge water running up underneath the tank.

I would knock on those battery platforms, as well as the bulkhead in front of the motor/behind the fuel tank and poke a finger in the drain hole in that bulkhead and see how they are holding up.

Thanks. Yea.. the bulkhead has a pvc tube going thru it for a drain, so its hard to determine it's condition. That's why I figured I should take a look now. The stringers in the back are good. And the boxes seem pretty good, although I bet they have moisture in them.

Got everything out so I could remove center section. So far it looks good.
