Looking for my next Baja
Hello -
Just sold my 01 Baja 272 Boss last night with 125 original hours and now looking to upgrade in size. I am searching for a 302 or possibly 322 Baja. 302 must be in the 2000 era with good power, graphics, options, etc. They stopped making 322's in 99...so looking for latest model to get some decent grapics package. Also possibly looking a 312 Formula FasTechs as well in the 2000-03 era range. I am looking to upgrade a lot from my 272 both in cabin size and cockpit room and get a true 70+ boat....these are the options i came up with (Baja 302/322 or Formula Fastech 312). Any feedback on what to look for in 302's or any weaknesses? I know it must have the extended swim platform as without it they are almost useless. If anyone out there knows of any super clean boats please send me some leads. |
Irish has his 2003 302 for sale it has 500 efi's with the extended platform good colors his runs 80 here is a link to it on BajaBoatOwners.com classifieds

I have stared and drooled over irish's 302 boss several times online and have talked to him about it as well. Love that boat and what I want....just a bit out of reach $$ for me at this point.
Definitely a quality built and proven boat!!! See what else pops up out there going into winter season |
It would be SO worth the money to buy Irish's boat. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO FIND a better deal. seriously. He has it priced very very fair.

Save yourself a step and just get the 33.

How about a 2001 Boss 342?
|
The 302 performance has lots of room. A buddy has one and it is awesome. He has 496 HO's in it with raised x dimension, labbed 28's, and a light weight cuddy. (just bench seats, no sink, microwave, fridge, ect) and runs 74-75 mph.

The only request from the wife is that it must have good colors and molded swim platform. I love Outlaws, but must agree it has to have a molded swim platform for kids and like the looks better.
I really think 302 is the answer if I go Baja, need to go in a 312 Fastech sometime though and compare. 02 302 Boss just popped up in CT that looks decent with 496HO's...may check this out. |

I Would agree on the 342. There r lots of good deals out there they come standard with better options. Also the 342 an 33 outlaw r 2 of bajas most balanced boats With Great ride an the difference in room is amazing

Side note with the extended swim deck, no huge wave jumping with it on, has a good chance of getting ripped off. That is why tim's 302 dosent have on. the normal deck is only as deep as a butt cheek............ Let me see if i have a pic. |
Outlaw and Alum swim platform. Once you have an Alum you wont go back.
No slipping and bustin butt w the rubber inserts. Now drunk slipping well Maybe |

there was a 302 for sale in duncannon pa at big bee boats, i think it was early 2000's (03-04) with twin 496 mags, nice color scheme and looked pretty clean, i know they were dropping the price 1K a week until sold, last i remember it was in the mid 50's, could be a good buy they seem very motivated to get rid of it

Interested in a 34CC?
|
No CC...must be closed cuddy. I have been watching the 302 in Duncannon, PA. Going to look at it in about 2 weeks when headed down to Carlisle, PA for the car show.
|
I have found (3) 302's. One with 496 MAGS and 100hrs, one wth 496HO's and approx 300hrs and last one with HP500 EFI's and approx 300hrs. All have extended swim platforms. Boils down to what top speed i am content with.

I have seen this outlaw on a few sites for sale. Love the colors and looks like a mint boat. Just a bit too $$ in my opinion and being in TX doesn't help me in Ny. Looking at 2 302's next week in PA and CT. Looked at a 312 fastech last weekend and almost pointing in that direction now....sweet boats but this one had twin 6.2's

I know what the boat books for and where it should sell, worked in the biz for many years too. If it sells great! If not, still have a nice 29. |
Wow
Must just be me !! 70 or even 60k will sure buy a Whole bunch of Cigarette this weather!! Just sayin! And if there is such a thing as "less depreciation" a Rette will surely find it for you. Rich GMG Oh Sorry i :hijack:
|
That's good to know bout the CIGs because that's what we are shopping for and there isn't a Top Gun listed under 110k that is newer then 01.
Sorry... I :hijack:. I'll bow out...accept my apologies. |
good look with the sale of your 03 29 OL. It is a really nice looking boat. My heart is set on a 302 if I go Baja but really leaning towards Formula Fastech 312. Looking at (2) 302 Baja Boss's this week and just also found a nice 03 Formula Fastech with twin 496 HO's.
