Will a 24 Outlaw fit on a 272 Trailer?
Will a 24 outlaw fit on a 272 trailer with out modification? From what I read there the same width and dead rise and overal hull length is close and the 24 has a extension box. got a good deal on the trailer was just wondering if i needed to mod the trailer before i put the boat on it.

I couldn't tell ya, but i'd like to see pics of the boat.

It wont let me post pictures. whats the way basic members can post pictures?

You can't host pictures on here unless you have a paid account. You need to use a third party host, like this.

272 hull is basically a 25 foot running surface, with 2' of swim platform overhanging at the back.
I would think your trailer will work just fine, especially if the bunks are set at the same deadrise. The only issue I could see is if the strakes are different between models, and those could end up on a bunk (I went through this) instead of interspaced..... XT would probably know right off if there are any differences. Easiest thing - try it! And make sure you've got adequate tongue weight for decent towing. You might have to move the bunks/boat/axle as applicable to acheive this, but I think the boats or so similar that you shouldn't have an issue if it was set up properly before. |

Nice, what kind of speed are you seeing?
|
88.7 with the maximus going to be testing another 5 blade soon
|
How much power is the engine making? It is a stock 496 Mag HO (425hp) and the Whipple is making how much boost?
|
Its suposed to be at 705 hp 655 is what the whipple kit is supposed to produce and Dana claims the headers are good for 50. Its just got the 5 pound pully on the 2.3 liter whipple so prolly 3-5 pounds of boost.
|
What was the reasoning behind using an extension box? What differences did you notice? Did you have to raise the engine/exhaust up?
|
I bought the boat built but the motor was raised 4 inches and the exaust had to be recut the box is nutreal and it has a imco 2 inch shorty it rides like alot bigger boat with the extension box like it's a 25. But docking it is kind of a pain with the prop further away from the hull
|
I wasn't aware that extension boxes changed low speed handling characteristics. That's interesting
|
It's just at idling in reverse it's different other than that it's the best handling boat I've had

The trailer fits great the way its set up now the bunks go back 6 inches futher than the transom, might have to adjust the mast or just make sure the tabs are always up. here are some pictures.

Sorry, I missed this one. The 24ol is the same hull both the 25ol and 272 are based from so the trailer should be a good fit. I would adjust the winch stand back to the point where the rear bunk support bracket is right under the transom wood for the best support. Tongue weight might be a little more than you need right now?

It pulls great now I only trailer it 10 miles a year to storage in the winter and back to the water in the spring I may play with it next year thanks for the info!
