Any Clean 40 OL's For Sale?

I have had my 33 OL for four years now and have absolutely loved it. I have always said if I was going to move up I would want a 40 OL powered by twin 525's. After searching, I can't find many that are for sale. Are there that few out there, or are people just not selling them? I'm not in a big hurry, just looking around so I thought I would ask. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Great package!

Never have to worry about Bravo drives ever AGAIN!

I think she has been for sale for a while now too.

RiReuter 11-26-2012 08:01 PM

wasn't expecting to see 700's...

Over a year that I can be 100% sure about. Likely over 1 year....as in 2 years.

hoff2483 11-26-2012 08:43 PM

Did Baja switch the 40 OL hull to a liner hull as well in 2006? It's about the only model that stayed after '05.

Smitty 11-26-2012 08:57 PM

That boat has been for sale for a while because it started in the low 200's. Now at 169,000 with 700's and NXT drives I think is a good deal. If I had the $$$$ it would be in my driveway.

HOSSMAN 11-26-2012 09:11 PM

Last I heard was the dealer repo'd it and that's who has it now...but that's 2nd hand info. Lake Travis boat I believe....dealer was Ski Dock.

JasonSmith 11-26-2012 09:19 PM

For $169k I'd buy this: http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o48212-en.html

JasonSmith 11-26-2012 09:21 PM

Or this: http://www.legendmarinegroup.com/web...hotos/3953928/
and then another $25k on a good set of drives.

Yes, I want to agree at least one year.

Pretty hard to justify 170K for a straight hull, nice looking boat, but, your getting into Nor tech or Outerlimits territory.

obnoxus 11-27-2012 07:24 AM

Bajas have been very good to us,,,,,,except the 38 Special,,,,yuck ,,,,,, but if Im spending 170K,,,,,,its not going to be a Baja.

There are a two under 100K with twin 575's Im looking at right now.

Again, would have to figure Drives into that as well, Im sure it would eat Bravos with any bump in HP

We looked at one right after we sold the 36.

No way would I ever own a Top Gun

This Cig with 1200's

Numerous other very nice vessels...

hoff2483 11-27-2012 11:19 AM

Yeah if i was to spend that kind of money it wouldn't be on a Baja. I figured there may some lower hour 40's that you could get into for a decent deal in this market. If I remember correctly, within the past year and a half there was a 40 OL for sale somewhere in Iowa that had low hour whippled 525's. I believe it sold in between 90-100K.

JasonSmith 11-27-2012 11:43 AM

For $150k you could get into a Formula 400SS with blue engines. You'd have a bigger overall boat that is more usable.
I was in love with 40 Outlaws for a while myself. That is until I looked around at what else could be bought in that price range.

40's were always stringer boats

Agreed! ESPECIALLY in todays market, I know people who have gotten to the point where they are just keeping the boat, and letting it "sit" because they cant "give" it away.

I just wish that 33 O/L's were more sought after than TS TG's.....I'd be set;)

NICE piece!

This one is my dads old boat. I painted it, not Baja. My wife and I left our wedding in it. It was the boat in the movie "Punisher". Not the one they blew up, but the one they show a 2 second running shot down the bow.

What about the huge cooler that they have in the cabin ?

I love that thing....you can fill that up, party on it for 3
days and still not reach the bottom:drink:

offshorexcursion 11-28-2012 09:57 PM

Have you considered the 35 outlaw? Measures about 38ft overall. Pretty sweet boat, faster then the 40 and still has a great cockpit and nice cabin. Could find one with 525's and prob run the same speed as a 40 with 700's. The 40s are sweet boats though.

Fact is, theres nothing out there with the same cockpit space as a 33-36 Outlaw in that size boat. Its awesome. My buddy has a 33 and his boat is "the party" boat because of the size of the cockpit....the cabin is another story. My Top Gun cabin seems 2x the size of his....and try to work in a 33 outlaw bildge!!! OMG, nightmare.

OK I will agree, they are nothing but a storage place and it ALL ends up on the floor anyway.
My 29 had a better cabin.
I did notice on B Lees they opened up the height of the door. Not sure what yr that started.

As for the cooler, mine is full of koozies. and have no idea where half of them came from.

But the Important chit is under the sun pad!!
