Kragar!!! Looks good!!
Whats the low down on the lack of the swim platform? A friend just had the pinks and purples on seats in his 38 special died and the outside wrapped. Took the pinks to a charcoal grey and the rest died white. Cant tell it wasn't new vinyl. |

It isn't useable. You actually sit on the rear swim pad and feet on platform. The only difference in that 96 and mine is the lack of a bathroom which in Mine is OK but tight for girls to get into and useless for a guy. The 29OL has 2 small closets that are equally useless for anything more than a spot to put stereo amps.

I was wondering about the vinyl dye job.. The 96 was very clean, but they are asking $38k... trailer is overloaded, and cant quite rap my head around needing a valve job now on one (cost???) and then in a few years... rebuilding that one and doing a valve job on the other... Anyone know the cost of a valve job? DIY possible? Could I change springs and reseat? or is there more to it than that? Bro-n-law just changed heads on his and we have a friend (mechanic) who set the valves. |
I actually find the closets on the 29 Outlaw pretty handy. On the startboard side I have all my life jackets plus a big v-shaped bumper that fits over the swim platform. Also a good spot to wedge in liquor bottles. The port side has the amps mounted on the wall and I also keep a small plastic garbage can in there. Keeps from filling up the icechests with empties and I can pull the bag out and drop it in the trash whenever we make a stop.

Don't remember where I got mine but this is the same one at Overtons: http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...1&merchID=4006 Works great for backing into the dock. I center a piling and put the fender between the piling and the swim platform. |
I towed a 29 OL with a 2009 Chrylser Aspen. You'll be OK with the Exp. Won't be the most enjoyable experience. I would recommend electric trailer brakes.
Also had a 302 that I towed with a 2000 Exp. It struggled a bit, but doable. I wouldn't go to the 33 or 342 without a 3/4 ton vehicle. The 302 and 29 are all about which look you prefer. The guts are pretty much identical. I like both and each time I was shopping decided on wherever I found the best deal. That's how I ended up with one of each. Sounds like you know all the differences. I was looking for either a 33 OL or 342. Better deals to be had on the 342 so that's where I am. Good Luck! |

Same here. I drink canned beer as a last resort only. I've yet to break a bottle in the boat.

The 29 I am looking at is tri axle brakes on each! Looks pretty balanced.. just waiting to finalize sale on mine then off I go to Ozarks! Buyers been busy and I also go out of town this week, so hopefully next week, we can make something happen!! |
my 342 only has brakes on one axle.
