I'm pretty impressed with the boat we have owned it for 3 yrs now, they r heavy boats weighing 9300lbs., but that is what u need down here if u don't have at least 38' in length IMO.
I test drove one with 500efi's, ext.boxes, with 28's and it ran like 83. What power do u have?

That's why I'm saying if superboat only runs 80 with those boats, he better keep that checkmate in smooth water (its too short) and the super boat is prob just way to light of a boat for that water.

i have the 500efi s bravo x drives no boxes 28 pich 4s and got 82 on gps last year in 2-3ft chop. she was dancing like a queen. :bunnydance:

Bears or cubs? Cubs suck. Go Cards!!!!

Supreboat in 02-07-2013 09:20 PM

Yeah man the cubs haven't won a World Series since Donzi won a championship! Lmao!

It's been a couple years but I think your forgetting about the P1 OSG Donzi a couple of years ago that won the championship!! I know it's overseas but that was real racing, rough seas, long distances, evenly matched with weight to power ratio. The OSG team went to an outerlimits after they won the championship with the Donzi!.... Nice try!

And yes the cubs do suck!

I suggested the following to Sup(er)boat on the other thread concerning the LOTO Spring Harbor Hop on 5/4:

"I think you need to start at the dam and tell everyone what time you plan on blasting all the way to Captain Ron's or Big Dick's. Then boats can come out from wherever they might be and run you when you come by. Now that would be kickazz. Heck, you might be surrounded by a mob of Bajas by the time you get there!"

Who's in?

BARNES4586 02-11-2013 01:16 AM

lol I have seen the superboat run it's pretty sweet. It cuts the waves like I have never seen before. It does not weight that much either.

How did I miss this thread....... can I play. Its an old straight bottom tank but I am sure with some of that new super slick stuff on the bottom it will run SUPRE.

I rode in a friends 30 Super that ran 95. I was just not a fan of sit down seats and the 5 foot beam. well maybe 6 foot?

In the video it seems to rock from side to side pretty hard and often in the rough.

He built it himself. I forget the HP.

How is that steering wheel holding up in the 35ol?

I'll still say that our donzis will out run either one of his boats in the rough, he might beat us in smooth water but how often is it smooth at loto. They just simply aren't long enough or weigh enough to run any decent speed for any amount of time without breaking your boat or back!

I'll also stick by my word of saying there are plenty of bajas licking there chops also!

i will prolly get grilled for this....but....i think you guys are under-estimating the superboat hull, they are badass in the rough!! i race class 5 with a couple of them, when the water is big you better hope your ahead of them or keep inside position otherwise there gone! by far one of the best single engine vee hulls i've seen.

now with that being said, i'm guessing supre-douche doesnt have the driving skills, knowledge, or balls to run one like my fellow class 5 competition. i guess what i'm saying is, in the right hands a 750hp y2k will run with a twin engine boat with stock power in the ozarks...start talking outerlimits, big power, lake erie, etc...y2k wont cut it, but i think we agree thats common sense.:daz:

Keytime 02-12-2013 08:44 PM

I'm surprised more folks aren't expressing interest in the harbor hop idea. Oh well.

Geez, a guy shows up wanting to run the world, ya try to set it up, and all I hear are the peaceful sounds of crickets chirping.... *sigh*

1989mach1 02-12-2013 09:22 PM

it sounds like fun, i would be in if it was closer. to far to trailer a 9k boat with a 1500 it would kill my truck if i even made it.

Gunner 02-12-2013 10:31 PM

If we can make it down I'm in.

Donziben 02-13-2013 12:19 PM

I'm down almost every weekend, usually out and about every harbor hop and poker run.

I rode in PBC's 29 outerlimits they had with the 600sci during the support our troops poker run, the boat is a machine for its size, it ran 103 in the shootout. It got pretty rough at the start in that little boat and a lot of boats slower than us were right there with us in the rough, only when it smoothed out a little were we able to pull on them. We were able to run 70-80 comfortably, which I was amazed at for a boat 29'long. Point being that superboat is probably pretty comparable(maybe I'm wrong). That 29's top speed is 100mph though not 80 like superboats. He will not be able to run that fast for very long in the wash machine we call home!

My boat runs 75 all day, pretty much any water. He might beat me but he will beat himself and his boat up in the process, probably break a drive.

Donziben 02-13-2013 12:23 PM

Not taking anything away from the bOat I'm sure it's nice and runs great and is fun to drive. He needs to get some seat time in before calling every body out before he even knows how it runs or handles! IMO. But I'm all up for stirring the pot and a little trash talk, all in good fun!

There is no comparison in rough water between a 29OL(26' boat w/o the bussel) & a 30 Y2K(32' with the swim platform.... apples & oranges .....

tbirdusa 02-14-2013 06:33 PM

My outlaw is getting a bussel. Seems to make every boat faster.

I will take a piece of the hop. I top outat 53. Whooping me should just make his day.

OK, I think that's a slight exageration. I never actually measured mine but I'm pretty sure at the helm it's about 7'. So what? People also comment on the weight, so what?

Aren't most sports cars are small and light?

FACT: The 30' Superboat has been very competitive in racing for decades.

Ok here's the way to look at that argument... Light race boat fine... Built strong but light... Not good for pleasure use with no cabin and frills....

My example....

Clifford ... 41 saber built with a now full of bullheads and a very minimal cabin solid as a fukkin rock in big water....

The chief... 41 apache full cabin also built like a tank....

Been in both on Lake Erie.... Both ride Amazing and fast for what they are... But I can tell you one thing the heavier boat landed much softer and rode heavier...

Weight is better for personal use every weekend in rougher water... Period ... It's really about what you use the boat for... If you want all out speed buy a cat...

The Means 02-15-2013 12:01 PM

^ assuming that everyone has the same wants and needs out of their boats this makes sense but I have to assume that we all different priorities and expectations out of boats.

1989mach1 02-15-2013 12:26 PM

For a 30ft range boat u can have both my zx can run 80s on flat or ruff days and when I get where im going I put on the air or heat cook some lunch on the cook top or in the microwave grab a beer out the fridge and kick back and in joy. Who wouldnt want that.

Maybe you should run him with your Checkmate? I dont recall him wanting to "run the world"? Seems to me he avoiding the challenge from the fella with the big powered Outerlimits.

Maybe you could post his/your challenge in one of the "General" categories and get more responses?

If this fella is me, I'm in for the spring hop. Supre, just name the starting point and I'll be there. I'd even spot you a standing start, you'll surely be on plane way before me. You mind if we bring a few OL's? All in fun of course. I'd hate to get accused of picking on the new guy with the little boat. :party-smiley-004:
