Congrats on the sale!!! Now you get to experience the joy of shopping!!! Also I had gotten pictures of the 31 @ fastboats, clear is peeling in spots on the sides, k-planes and drivers are corroded pretty bad. There was some other stuff but its been a while.

I finally found pics of cockpit and it has rear wraparound bench, so it will not work for me. Thanks though

Am trying to stay 35ish.
Found a 99 orange 29 with 450 hrs in olmuhgokee, OK

Other than steel trailer, seems to be what I want for my budget..

Anyone know the boat??? Was on eBay! Wavy orange and yellow.

I tried to get more pictures, he never sent them and I never pursed it, had more hours than I really wanted. Didn't look bad from the pictures that were on eBay.

Buy my single and drop a 1350 in it! Its that 29 you are after and i'm short about $130 large to make that happen........

Quinlan 03-19-2013 07:29 AM

Go 33 and save yourself another step later in life.

nailit 03-19-2013 09:41 AM

thanks for the ads guys!!

Kragar:. like that 302.. and you have my boat!! (don't like the older 454 mags tbi.

nightlife: not a fan of the 322 and need mags.

If I could find a 33 below 40, i would jump on if clean.. Had a 33 and a 29 but took too long to sell mine.

I found a 29ol in ok, but don't think i want a set of motors with 475hrs and cockpit needs to be redone. sunpad already recovered but all white.. hate that. bottom line is 30k, but cant roll back hrs??

nailit,

Not to hijack but how did you like you 25? Was it enough boat for Pontchartrain and Maurepas? I'm not sure if I should get a 25 for my first performance boat or try to step strait into a 29-30 twin engine boat. I will be boating the same water ways

It did very well.. Pontchartrain can get pretty nasty for even big 30+ fts.

25 is big enough, if you can afford a 30 with twins go for it.

my motivation is b/c I have small kids (4 &7) and everything is rough for them so having a few extra feet, we could go out in most conditions rather than watching wind conditions so much!

If it weren't for the kids, I would just put a blower or 540 in it to pick up a few extra mph!!

We also go to ship island several times a summer and wanted the extra cockpit space and saftey of a 2nd engine b/c we often bring another family and they ride with us.. no other boats...

May end up doing that.. but man it would suck missing this season! I would have to wait till winter. A 302 would also fit the bill but must have mags and windscreen and hard to find? I do like the 29 also so it depends on the deal and a 29 would be more managable for tow vehicle and parking spot....

I wiould love a 33 but its probably unrealistic as my parking spot will be a little jammed...

it will have to wait till I move to house navigable water.

I dont think parking a 30 footer or a 33 is much different. in reallity, that 3 feet is not life changing on the trailer.

just the poket book

I will have to put a tape to it but I thing I will be maxed out with a 29 or 302.. unless I chop down a tree or move my a/c unit. I have to use my neighbors driveway to get it out also!

I am looking at a 29 in OK with with 475 hours on meters. He is going to do a compression test and try to find a scan tool this weekend to see how well they have been maintained. He claims it doesnt burn any oil, Cockpit vinyl in bench seat back will have to be replaced and may as well do all of it so he is lowering price and it already has an alum trailer which a steel would have to be replaced down here w/in 2 years..

Other than that it has everything I want! 29-30k for a 99 w 454 mags with all options...

Opinions on those hours??

Powerquest_Baby!! 03-21-2013 01:32 AM

I towed back from Chicago the first time but that was a very long 900+ miles. Also, need to check to see if it has the 3 man rear bolster like the green one! I do not want that...

I may look into the red one to see about the rear seat and hours on engines.

mittens 03-21-2013 09:28 AM

No worrys about hours it take care of. they will run a LONG time with normal use.

I will feel better after a compression test to make sure all cylinder are still good.

What are good 454's compression ranges??

My old 2000 29 Outlaw w 454 mags has well Over 1000 hours on it and Still running like a top.
I bought new w 5 hrs. Its on its 3rd owner now.
Never been opened up. Just change the oil every 30 hrs and other routine maint.
Great motors.
Couplers every 300hrs or so. Gimbles about 500.
If they havent done away with the "Cool fuel" system, I thinks it was called, you may have vapor lock issues. I had the fix installed after 3 yrs of WTF.

Where in OK is it?

nailit 03-21-2013 05:25 PM

Just north of you in nowata,ok

I did fix too with pump, also heard you could reroute return fuel back to tank?? Found thread from young performance about that!

My 454's are pushing the 1300 area.

msa4016@hotmail. 03-22-2013 05:19 PM

Nailit, I to have an 302 boss with stock mags carburated, that has 520 hours on the motors and it will run 67-70mph(I dont do it very often it hurts the wallet) with me and the wife running 23 pitch , three blade props. No oil burn issues and runs super strong if taken care of. And mine is just like the one in the video the black checker pattern with the red stripe (1997 Baja Boss). To see it go to the members video section page 2 "Go pro Baja first try at it" .
