Default Insurance cost

I'm not sure my insurance guy is giving me the straight scoop. The boat is a Baja 272 1999 with a 454 mag rated at 385 HP, rated at 68 MPH and valued at $68,000.00. I was paying $2,000.00 per year. Then found Progressive at $500.00 per year. Now I've had a claim and Progressive says that they made a mistake all along and they have to raise my rate to $1,136.00 per year - They say I was 'lucky' to have had it at the mistaken rate of $500.00. Also was quoted $1,978.00 for a 2003 Baja 33 Outlaw with 2x496HO's. Anyone care to share rates for similar boats?

PIERFECT, did you have to make a claim from the weekend? Did you have some trouble on the poker run?

Default Insurance claim

Advantage, No did not have a claim from poker run - it was about 4 weeks ago in Prescot. Hit something and blew the drive complete. All better now. Poker run went pretty well, no broken parts just going a little slow. Maybe bad air.

2000 Baja 25 Outlaw. National Marine Underwriters $702 per year with $60,000 agreed value. I went through this in the spring and found state Farm to be the cheapest unless you have had a claim, then they wont write the policy.

Try NBOA (I think it is National Baja Owner's Association) @ 800-248-3512. My 2000 29' Outlaw is $1400, but I'm in the ocean. Don't know if that makes a huge difference or not.
