From what I have heard I would not do any kind of chargers on the 496. Have heard a Remap will get you some extra ponies. Otherwise I would just leave it alone.

Sit back, boil some crawfish, have a cold beer and enjoy it running for many years to come.. then maybe look at some raylar 525 kits before you put screws to cast internals,,
:daz:

+ 1 Go with the Raylar kits and CMI headers for the 496 motors. They will be turn key reliable so you can enjoy maximum time on the water. And have props tuned by BBlades for that extra mile or two per hour.

You might get upset at this, but if you want to put whipples on it...pull the 496 motors out and toss or sell them then get yourself some real motors. The 496's have cast internal parts and putting a whipple or anyother supercharger on them is a ticking time bomb. Get something with forged internals...454 Mag or a 502 mag or spend the bucks and buy some real power.

As the owner of a juiced up 33, I can tell you
having more heat in it wont do anything for the resale value.

Summers coming. Dont start a project now! Run it your first season and then make up your mind.

As long as you don't crank up the boost the 496's do fine with whipples I have 200 hours on mine and know people that have 400 hours on them.

Just enjoy it like it is unless you are ready to REPLACE your drives and ENGINES. Anything less will leave you begging for more, and wasted money taking useless steps along the way.

Congrats on the new boat though. LOVE the 33's!
