What props do or have you used on your Force hull? Speeds your seeing?
Well guys, Im stating to think my 265 DVX is doomed at 55-56 mph for life!!!. From what I read its the same hull as a 265 force. What props have you guys found to give the best speed? Currently Im running a mirage plus 23.
Right now I at 4900, 55 MPH. Freash top end on 502 efi for power. Last year, with blowen (or starting to blow and compression all over the map)head gaskets, I was at 55 mph. What do you guys see for speed? Engine? Prop? Tricks? |
I had a 87 265 with a 454 mag alpha drive, I tested all the props the best match I found was a turbo 3 blade 19 pitch, the pitch was low because the drive had a 1.32 gear set also the engine only mad 330 HP, and it ran 54 MPH with the 502 I would think your boat should run 60-63 mph..
I would try a 22 4 blade your cruise speed will increase and then lab it to get the best set possible.. |
265 is a big heavy single screw. You gonna need ponies to get much more out of it. That boat is probably bigger and heavier than a 29 Fountain.
|
I was also thinking very low 60's or at least 60.
Ya she is big and heavy for a 26' long boat. But man have to love the cockpit space we have! Im thinking next run out Im going to pull off the speedo pick up (previous owner installed a transom mount pick up), drive shower, and maybe the transom Depth sonar and see what happens. These boats from Baja with 330 hp 454 had to run 53-55 im guessing Any one else run a force hull, single or twin. Post up what you guys were running. Thanks Rob |
They are only 4500 lbs I loved mine! I saw 56 out of it in the right conditions. It loved the rough water, I beat the hell out of that alpha drive for 9 yrs and never had a problem with it.

I have an 88 265 with twin 350's on her ill gps it this weekend for ya.

^^^ excellent !! I believe read some where on here the our boats were designed for twin engines. I really interested in your outcome. Im almost starting to think my tach is not reading correctley.
|
in case you don't see it in the other thread i took her out sunday but my starboard motors throttle cable snapped or let go of the control box. looking at it tomorrow. get the #'s to ya asap!
|
Aslo for future ref im running the twin 350's on alpha ones with stainless steal M14 1/4x20 props ill get you the gps reading asap
|
ugh :( Well at least you have twins so you could get back to dock safely / under your own power. If that would happen to me I would have to rely on a jet ski or a pontoon to get back to dock. Nothing worse then a jet ski pulling a go fast back to shore lol.
