Hey Just got a 99 outlaw. its the 502 mpi. runs great seems to do everything pretty well. this is my first bigger boat. had a few stv and allisons before, needed something to get out on lake Ontario. anyway anything I should watch for or monitor closely? on the speedo it shows 68-69. that seems about right??? Its has a 23" prop now. anything else I should try? Anyway any advice would be great. oh ya how do I post pics?? Thx.

Congrats!!! I would just be easy on the throttle getting it to plane to preserve your out drive! I would check your speed with a gps as the speedo will not be accurate !

congrats! the 25ol is great boat! Handles rough water very well!!
+1 on checking GPS speeds.. your not going that fast :-(
I would check the manifolds, particularly under the bottoms where the plugs go in. I had a 99 with 454 mags and I pull the risers off and they looked great, but the guy who bought my boat went out a few times this summer and he got water in the cylinders. The only place they had a little rust was under the bottoms... Since its hard to get under there, it may have been worse than I thought! Change them and you will save yourself $$$ now vs rebuilding later...
If you have low hours (<500).... AND have "rust" around the perimeter of the manifolds... either get new (aftermarket) exhaust OR just get some stock replacement manifolds.
OR you can gamble and just tell the wife you have to put a 540 in there when you rebuild! lol

Just for reference my 25 speedo reads about 67 and actual GPS speed is 61. That said, I'd say you are running 62-63 which is pretty good. If you call BBlades for a prop make sure and give them the GPS speed. They will also need your RPM's, boat and water conditions, etc. Congrats on the boat, we love ours!
