I just saw this boat for sale, they have it listed as a SeaRay 26br but it sure looks like a 252 Islander to me, price seems pretty good.

Yes, the anchor locker, specifically the loose anchor in there worries me. A good friend got clipped in the temple by a plexiglass bow hatch when the plexi blew out of the aluminum frame during a rough spat in the ocean. It was a freak thing. I could stand and jump on that hatch without pushing it the plexi out, but this incident was not predictable. It wasn't pretty. Had that been an anchor locker door, or worse--an anchor; it probably would have killed him. A few inches lower, and the plexi would have caught his jugular and killed him too.

I'm all about mitigating risk. It's what I do for a living.

Any body know more details about this type of boat,, for sure baja backbone, did they produce it for sea ray, first impression is a baja modification to replicate a pachanga?

I tried to research it a little bit before I posted it, the only sea ray 26br I could find on google is the one for sale at parks. They are a very big dealer and know what they are talking about, I really just thought it was a mistake from the previous owner trying to make it look like a seray?

As an owner of of one I would highly recommend the 292 Islander. Great boat in rough water, tons of space, the cabin is nice to change in or for storage (never thought I needed it until I owned one, now I'm spoiled), and with the 496HO it's not bad on fuel. The hull on this boat handles extremely well, drives like an outlaw just slower on the top end. I've had a smaller bowrider and after the 292 I can say you will not be disappointed.

EDIT: I would also highly recommend Performance Boat Center. I drove from Cincinnati to Ozarks to get mine from them and I was very pleased with them, the experience, and the boat.

I was able to get in contact with Navy252, nice looking boat, grahics are good, lot of work done, just to be honest the salt boat scares me.I was able to talk with Navy and get all the details on the boat, Being a midwest guy not to familiar with the long term effects of salt even after all the modifications.

I did a little more looking and they have a video on youtube about the boat saying it was a one of one prototype. That video is over a year old and I did not see the boat for sale there last summer, maybe someone traded it back in lately?
