I get what you are saying, but not that boat. The paint, the bolster, all business cabin, see through hatches, spoiler....you show up with that, and you better be able to make some noise and put down a number. With small power that boat would be no different to me than a Fiero with a Ferrari body kit.

But abslolutely true, she's no 40' cruiser. However, if a man can pick her up in the mid 20's to mid 30's and slap in some decent power 500-550hp I'd feel certain it would run mid 50's to low 60's and be in the boat for 50k+- It is a doggone good looking boat, just not at 60k as is See ya, Kelly |

Does that price figure in # 6 drives/props, trannies, and the exhaust/pipes for the front engine ?.....those alone could exceed the value of the thing. Or is this a re-rig with something like 525's and junker XR's ? |
well Team,
original power was #6's & 850 SCI, w/ 1075's you might get 90's, legendary marine in Florida (NOT Dallas) quoted me 195k for new 700's & #6 drives installed. Just a side note a 35 lightning w same power is a 120 mph boat, at Legendary. Im as big a 07 or earlier Baja fan as there is, well next to XT, and your right the boat in question is Baja's #1 in my book (appearance), but my lead sled runs 79 w/ trip ho's just no way to power this boat & run strong for less than its worth or even close (250 I bet) jimmy ps that 33 previously mentioned just may be the perfect Baja balance. gettin it |

You'd really have to love that machine with all your heart and soul if your willing to drop that kind of coin on this boat. I'd bet she'd run a bit faster than 90 w/1075's A neighbor/buddy's 40OL w/575SC's and 871's runs mid 80's on stock engines after swapping blowers. Good luck with your decision. See ya, Kelly |

Just curious, how much coin and what would the power be???
See ya, Kelly $120k with a trailer, and I believe there is room to negotiate. To be honest, all the naysayers on here fail to realize that if someone doesn't do something like this it is likely that the boat will just sit for a long time. I would rather see that hull rigged and running, even if it's just 70-80mph. You don't have to be 'putting down a number' unless your only goal is to impress others and show off. My goal is just to enjoy boating, quickly but not insanely quickly, lol. |

$120k with a trailer, and I believe there is room to negotiate. This is starting off a lot like my boat did. Here sits a Baja Marine, factory campaigned for a season, promotional Poker Run boat with issues, for sale. She leaves a bit to be desired as it sits. Draw up a contract subjecting it to a survey on hull and moisture penetration with a low offer 30K+- If the repairs were performed in order and theres no rot this is a great start for a build. Allow 30 to 40 in reserve to repower and add driveline. You should end up w/500-600hp engines w/trannies and drives that should have no problems with the lower power output. You may not hit 70 but it would be a respectable speed near 60. Your investment would be about $1000 per mph. I don't think that boat is worth even 100k w/525/XR's I'd bet you can find clean undamaged ones in that price range with 575's and no issues for sale. I'm no expert by any means, these are just my gut feelings, LOL See ya, Kelly |
:stupid:
$125K (plus they will hit you with TTL and what other fees they can think of since it is from a dealer ) dose seem high knowing its history. |

It's not about "showing off" it's about what that boat was built for, that ride would be terrible for a day anchored on the water. Now, put that boat back together for half of that 120 and I could see the compromise. |
