nice looking 272. I was in the run the previous 2 years on my 01' 272 and last year on my 03' 302. Missed this year as boat was getting bimini and full camper enclosure made for our trip from A-Bay to Montreal that we just got back from. Sounds like a good turn out this year...definitely go back to doing this run next year. Going to miss Buffalo run as well as we will be up in A-Bay again for Pirates Weekend.

I've always wanted to do Pirates weekend, I'm afraid of the river...

I missed the Battleship run last year due to motor issues. I was there the year before with my old Checkmate senator. I think I was tied for oldest/slowest boat there

I had a blast with the 272 this year, but I'm thinking about upgrading. How do you like the 302?

Next time you come to Seneca let me know, I'm on the north end almost every weekend.

We had our 272 for 1 season and mid-way through i was looking for the next boat. Really wanted to stick around 30-32' twin and looked at Formula 312's and Baja 302's. Really wanted a formula but hard to find power and colors i was looking for. Had to go to MN to get anything close to what i wanted. There were several 302's to look at in a 6-8 hr range and liked the wider beam for the style of boating we do. 302's have very large cockpits and cabins for a 30' boat. Probably 2nd largest to 33 outlaw in the 30-35 range. It still is easily towable and i can get into all of the fingerlakes including Conesus with it. For us, the 302 fits the bill but everyone is different. I would suggest getting one with 496 HO's or larger power...otherwise speed will not be that much different from your 272 if you get the 6.2's or 496 Mag's. I purchased mine from MI and has HP500 EFI's, Ext boxes and IMCO shorties....pretty cool combo and a lot of work done by previous owner to make it all work. My friend has a 322...not as much cockpit room but larger cabin and deeper/taller as well. These are very nice boats but not many around as they stopped making them in 99' i believe.

Sounds like we have similar boating styles, I was drawn to the 272 because of the wider beam and larger cockpit. Now I want a larger cabin and some amenities. I just started looking at Formula's last night, they are really nice but like you said they are hard to find with bigger power. I really want a Donzi 33ZX but they are SOOOO heavy my tow vehicle would also have to be upgraded, and I sure as hell can't afford both!! Sounds like your 302 is pretty sick! I would love to check it out.

i did look for 33ZX Donzi's as well. Awesome boat with lots of room...believe the 33 is a wider than a 8'6" beam...cant remember. I know the 38 ZX is wider than 8'6". They are obviously a bit more money and yes you will need a 3/4 or 1 ton to haul it. I haul wiht a old school 97 chevy dually 2WD and have no issues. I believe boat and trailer loaded is around 10-11K lbs. TRailer has EOH brakes....which are really nice to have on a heavy load.

not sure if i will make it to seneca this year...headed back to Abay this weekend. We will be on Cayuga lake for labor day weekend and have 5 Baja's coming from Rochester area. We stay at Treman Marine State Park in Ithaca for weekend. If we hook up you can definitely check it out...lot more room over a 272.
