Forgot to mention Tahoe headlights are $2,000-2,500 to have them installed. Go to dieselplace.com and look in the medium duty section and you will see some threads on people having them done and even some doing the install themselves.

LOTO.(Lake of the Ozarks) We likely have the biggest population of Baja's and every other brand Performance Boat in the country concentrated onto one lake. It is a boat show every weekend. That being said, Shootout weekend is the best of the year, If you are as obsessed with Baja's and Performance boats as I, that is the weekend to plan a visit!!!!

j21black 12-19-2014 11:13 AM

Best Baja Video out there...

Perry...

Weren't those motors pulled before it was sold to Josh?

Hook'em 12-19-2014 02:37 PM

No sir. The belt driven air cleaners WERE removed and Ben the Motor man detuned the ECM's accordingly. She still has a good 500 HP per side. Other than that all the hardware was included.

Last August some ass hat stole the drives, shorties, tie bar and steering rams from the ship yard In Va. Beach the night after Jammin on the James. Left the boxes and tips. I doubt she's even been refitted yet as Josh has been at sea pretty much ever since then.

Attended a couple Brand events at LOTO and always good times. those grassroots events surely had to make corporate feel pretty good back in the heyday.

Jason made several Badd ass videos when he had the tune on her. A couple on Cedar Creek show him blowing the doors off some serious hardware. Haven't heard from Jason in a while, I know he was focused on flying. I've heard from Josh a couple of times since the theft "from sea with limited connectivity" last I heard he was playing the insurance game.

If I remember right his LOTO class record was 92MPH

Hook'em 12-20-2014 09:53 AM

I think he said he had 94 on the GPS but the "official" speed comes from the radar trap, and I think you're right he recorded a 92.

What time of the year are the events at Loto?

tbirdusa 12-20-2014 01:27 PM

Summer of 07 or 08? Most all have moved on to other brands or interests.

What the chance of getting together with the ones that are still Baja owners and start the movement all over again.

Starts in April with Spring Harbor Hop, Goes through September with Fall Harbor Hop.

That being said, the big weekends are always off the charts, Support the Troops Poker Run is in June, SHOOTOUT (week) August, (as stated, my favorite of the year) http://www.lakeoftheozarksshootout.org/

Traditionally: Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekends are the largest numbers but anytime from Memorial Day to Labor Day it is busy all the time. There are numerous other events throughout the year just go to: http://www.funlake.com/Events?catego...oc5BoCUhfw_wcB

I knew a crew of around 10 boats. I am the last one I know that still has a Baja. Times change, people move on and family dynamics are different post financial borrowing crackdown.

At LOTO, I just don't see the middle class in performance boats like we did. Lots of reasons I believe, but those are my personal observations and opinions. I still see the middle class at the lake, just not in performance style boats in the numbers we did ten plus years ago.

Hell just look how many boats are being built now in the 60 - 100 G range performance style.

I do agree with all of the things you said but at the same time there are still some of us around and let's just make the most of it and reach out to every Baja owner out there and see what happens

If an event is planned at LOTO and I'm off work, I'll be there with my family truckster (292 Islander).
