I just bought a 1999 272 baja with a 502 mag mpi with a bravo 1 that I just bought in the last week in October. This is my first baja. I had a 1990 Larson senza spectra 250 that I just sold (only had it this past summer). Before that, I had not had a boat in 12 years. Before the larson, I had a 1988 225 four winns sundowner. Slowly getting back into it. I am not done yet... I see a 33 outlaw in my future or a 302. Hopefully newer then what I have now. Like to get a 03 or 04 year. However, not crazy about the 496 motors. Hard to find those boats with 525's.

I am still here and still Baja owner. I am flying across the Great South Bay Long Island NY. My boat is a 1989 Sport 280. It has been updated recently to make it as new with new interior and refreshed power. I have also done the dash over so the helm looks and operates as new too. Oh yeah and I can't forget the ausome stereo that I bring to the party. I don't travel over the road with my boat but would like to some day to see new places and meet new people.
i would also like to do poker runs and meets next season if all goes well .the South Bay poker run that was started last year was just not what I was looking for. They ran from points west to further west .... Not interested I like to run east where the water is clean and less traffic |

If an event is planned at LOTO and I'm off work, I'll be there with my family truckster (292 Islander).

What year is your boat and what power do you have? Also what bumper is that on the front of your 4500? I think that might be a better option than putting Tahoe headlights in the hood at least from a cost perspective. I have a 4500 GMC to pull my 442.

We love our 405 and I have spent a ton of time making it the perfect boat for everything we want to do. Has the speed, looks, sound, comfort, and a weekend sleeper. No other boats gives me all that she offers. The forums have been a god sent because I have learned so much and received very useful information, thanks guys. About to redesign the Kings Chair so it won't look like a frog staring at me.

I've been on OSO for many years and the Baja forum has tailed off quite a bit. I have owned 3 separate Baja's and the current is a 33 Outlaw powered by 500 efi's. We boat in South Carolina mainly at Hartwell and Keowee. We do travel a good bit with the boat to Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Jacksonville just to name a few.

Would like to know of anyone near the Pickwick area in Tennessee. Just had my boat moved there a month ago and am looking forward to the 2015 boating season.

I was around for many years too in the hayday "MRBAJA"... Don't post anywhere much anymore but we have a Hustler 388 with 500's in it now. Still love my ole Baja's....they were really good to me back in the "hayday" when I sold them and the customer base, support and following was second to none back then and it still is today. Even those that are out of boating still BS and hang around. People can say what they want about them but "Dollar for dollar, bang for the buck you won't beat a Baja or their customers".... Del Waters is still the owner at Ski Dock...we had a lot of fun putting on those runs. I am thankful to have met so many wonderful people.

I too remember the haydays, I had a Rinker at that time, just getting into boating. Would go to the boat show in Houston and see Baja's and also on the lakes and would dream of having on one day. Fast forward, I am very lucky that one day came and I am now into my 2nd Baja. Agree with the comments, Baja might not have had the reputation the others had back then, but for me (and many others), they just cant be beat. I was recently in the market and looked at Fountain, Donzi, and Cig and while nice in their regards, I love my new to me Outlaw (one owner, fresh water, spotless)! Would love to meet up with some folks sometime at a old fashioned Baja rally! Will keep an eye on any developments. Hope all had a nice Christmas and have a Happy New Year to come!
|
I doubt I could find time to make a run to LOTO, I would think it would probably be a 16 hour pull for me....
If anything gets planned within 8 hours or so from me, I'd attempt to make it... |

Sorry but haven't had much time to be on OSO lately. On my second Baja. First was a 88 240 sport that I ran for over ten years. Great lil tank. But needed more room and speed. Found a great 36 Outlaw that fits my boating needs here in Pittsburgh. There are a bunch of Baja's here as a local dealer used to sell them. Plus, we are close to Bucyrus. Had the pleasure to vacation with the boat last February in Florida the went to my first Poker Run this last August in Buffalo. Plan on doing more in the years to come.

If you limit it to 8 Hours, some guys in TX won't even be able to leave the state!
Don't put a limit on it because of me. LOTO is within distance for a lot of guys. |
