100% Yes I would be PROUD to own a Baja again!
|
Wow, 50+ posts and not a single "NO". I am impressed. When I saw the thread I thought for sure it would eventually turn into Baja bashing. I owned a 95' 272 with a 502. Loved it! I served me great. I would buy another Baja. Always loved the 33 and 35. The cockpit is a dance floor compared to other like size boats.

This one gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling.

We had a 272, for the price we paid for it and all the fun we had on it, it was a great choice for what we needed it to do. I have a neighbor that bought a 30' Outlaw 496HO in 2005 brand new and still has it, no major issues with around 500hrs. I understand there was some build issues during that time the boat was produced, but his has been all good. The standard colors command higher $, just go thru the boat for moisture. Would I buy another one? If our needs were the same as when we owned the 272, yes I would.

I don't post here much but saw this thread and had to put in my 2 cents. I've had a Baja and it was a great boat. We ran the crap out of that 25 outlaw for 5 years and not one problem. In my opinion the 35 Outlaw is one sexy looking boat. Pair that up with a set of Merc. 525's and you would have a great reliable wave crusher with plenty of room to entertain.

I am curious did they do anything to reinforce the stern for that power, or is it the same construction as a bravo powered one.

The stringers go pretty tall up against the transom. Its not that much more power than any other 40, many had triple 500s. The engine bay is real big to fit triples, so his boat with twins seems roomy.

I've owned two, the first was a 272 502 mag boat, it cost me 1 battery and a few oil changes in the 5 yrs I had it, next was the 33OL, arguably the best hull Baja ever built, certainly one of the most desirable to own, ran it with the 502 mags for three years then pulled the engines turned them into 540's had nothing but trouble LOL, ran it for one summer, and know I'm the proud owner a new Cig and I pulled the engines out of the 33 and am putting them in the TG, does that make me a bad person, Baja's rule but Cig's get the Pu$$y:D:D
