Short-Bus ?? how about you come share your wealth of knowledge on the other site, ( lurker ) so the other Baja guys can learn how to make their boats faster.
JT, duck hunting at 92 is not allowed, ................ anyway, I sold my slow 33 and now have a slower tub, its not always how fast you get there its how good you look doing it :grinser010: |
Hate to say it but this kind of thread is why I stopped posting on the forums especially OSO.
Enjoy the winter guys. Seems like cabin fever has already set in. |

ANYWAY, after all that........geez......I guess what I am asking is if I stayed brand loyal, sold my 280, kept my power, what slightly newer model is best bang for the buck? Twin engine app, and again 1150hp to work with. What boat will run closest to mid 80's?
|
From the 'Craigslist gold' thread, post 1072.....
https://quadcities.craigslist.org/bod/5265647842.html I think this one fits the bill of "fast Baja" |

1994 Baja 32 Caliber with Stellings boxes up 2 inches, IMCO -2 shorties Bravo XR's 620 HP 630 TQ 509's ran a best of 89.9 a few times and 86-87 any day.

I don't know about "no problem." He had 650hp+ a side with boxes and -2 Imco lowers. It ran low to mid 90's.

I would say the 33OL would be your best "all around" choice. Lots of room, better rough water handling than a 29 or 30, and prolly close to being as fast as a 29 with equal power.
|
The OL is probably 3 ft longer and is much bigger than the fountain, the fountain will be faster with same power but a lot smaller cockpit and lounge, set em side by side and you will see

I know speed vs. power they aren't close but how does the 33 OL compare to a 32 Fountain? Is it a way bigger boat?
This is us tied up together (35 fountain vs 33 Outlaw) We are not tied up perfectly, beak is forward of my stern, but you can see the overal length for comparison. |
