I think this one fits the bill of "fast Baja"

I don't know about "no problem." He had 650hp+ a side with boxes and -2 Imco lowers. It ran low to mid 90's.

ANYWAY, after all that........geez......I guess what I am asking is if I stayed brand loyal, sold my 280, kept my power, what slightly newer model is best bang for the buck? Twin engine app, and again 1150hp to work with. What boat will run closest to mid 80's?

I would say the 33OL would be your best "all around" choice. Lots of room, better rough water handling than a 29 or 30, and prolly close to being as fast as a 29 with equal power.

2003 33 Outlaw, 500 EFI's, Imco boxes, XZ drives, stock 30" Bravo I's, 380 K-planes, 80 MPH. Upgraded 500 EFI's to 600 HP 522's courtesy of the late Brad Smith, Bblades worked 30" Bravo I's, 82 - 83 MPH.

Yeah, I have a very similar set up and a couple more horsepower (low 600's) and I am at 83-84 unless its full moon and zero humidity then its 85. :)

You need a full crew just to monitor all the gauges on that thing lol.

I know speed vs. power they aren't close but how does the 33 OL compare to a 32 Fountain? Is it a way bigger boat?
