Default Cleaning up the canvas buttons on Islander

So there's dozens of the buttons mounted for the bow and canopy canvas which I don't have or ever plan on using. I'd pull them off but then there's nothing but holes left. Has anyone done anything slick to clean these up?

Did you ever get any info on this? I would think a marine Tex type epoxy might fill it, but matching color would suck....

I just left them. There was no simple solution. If I didn't like buttons then I shouldn't have bought an Islander, lol.

Does that Spectrum stuff match to the gel coat fairly well, or will it look worse than the buttons? Never used it...

Spectrum color was the company that supplied the gel coat to baja back in the day, if you send them the color code or a piece of the gel coat the size of a quarter they will match it identical. I contacted them before and they were great to talk to

I have used their gel paste repair kit with good results. It was a perfect color match IF you polish the original stuff. You have to bring what's on the boat back to the original color to get a match.

Cool. I would think a color code would be easy enough. Thanks! Appreciated for sure.
