How fast have you pushed your Islander?

I run 58 in my bowrider w/stock 496 mag. I don't have any problems with anything taking flight. I also have lots of storage compartments so everything that's loose is stowed. Definitely make sure the center windshield is either latched or out cause that could be a problem.

Even at 63 it's still rock solid. For me I was planning on making a 75mph Islander but realized it's so very rare that I can get wide open, and when I do it's for a short time and catches everybody of guard. Last weekend total count was a towel, a couple hats, and a sweatshirt or two.
The reason this question has come up is until now it's been a 50mph boat and have just recently sorted out some fuel and ignition issues. All of a sudden 63 is a completely different experience and while that's not super fast it is fast enough for what I use it for. I'd rather sell the supercharger and update the interior with the funds and not worry about having two spare drives etc.

Our 208 Islander did 74 gps with ZZ 502 engine, stock carb, Bulldog 500 ignition module, Eddie Marine alum exhaust, and an Ultradyne cam. 5900 rpm with a 24 Bravo 1 prop. 208's are pretty light compared to some of your guys bigger boats though.

My 25ol did 64 light cruised at 50-52 all day at 4K depending on water. Our 33ol does the same, 65 light and 62-63 loaded heavy, but will cruise at 50-55 with ease. I get 50 at 3800 which is pretty good, but I would love to cruise at 60, but that would make my wot need to be around 70-75.
Really not worth the extra money when majority of our cruising is at 50. Anything above 50 creates a wind tornado for whoever is sitting on the bench b/c it sits so far back. I go back and forth about power, but always fall back to its not worth the 10-15k it will take only to cruise another 5mph faster "some times".
