I would like to agree with you but I can not' on mine. My bravo one drives do not have straight cut gears. Bravo XR drives do. Mine have standred bravo one gears that are like helical, but I think the right name is spiral teeth. Runing them in reverse at high rpms could be really bad

It has nothing to do with straight or helical gears, they all rotate the same internally, they're in constant mesh with the pinion gear which connects to the engine, they don't switch directions when shifted.

The top driven gear, when engaged by the clutch, turns the prop shaft counter clockwise,
the bottom driven gear turns the prop shaft clockwise when engaged by the clutch.

All bravo lower gear sets are straight cut, they have no problem rotating one direction or the other.

I stand corrected, I didn' think about that way. Your are right. Thank you. I might try it once with spinning them in to see how it handles. I over looked that part. Being I'm a farm boy I should of thought of that. Thank you for your help.

My neighbor Lou dog and his noisemaker. The neighbors either love or hate us.
