Default prop slipping

Trying to figure out what prop I need for a 26 Outlaw 2007 with a 496 ho. The 23 pitch mirage 3 blade it comes stock with is slipping/spinning when coming out of the hole and when turning. Just tried a 24 pitch 4 blade bravo, a little better, seemed to spin a 4000 rpm. Any ideas what the cause is or how to remedy? thanks in advance

Being an HO you want your WOT between 4600 - 5000 RPM. The slipping your discussing does this mean that your just not coming out of the hole as fast as you want?

I had a 272 Baja, B-1 drive, ran great till I put a shower on it, cavitation so bad it wouldnt get on plane, the tube was a about an inch below the cavi plate on the drive, so at someone's suggestion I raised it to about 3\8 of an inch and the problem went away....

It comes out of the hole but as it revs up as i give it throttle the props slips and spins and then catches again. Then when I trim up it happens and also on turns. What do you think?

Either trimming to high, someone has installed a lower (-1, -2, etc) which is shorter then it should be, or the transom has been replaced and the key hole is to high.

With the drive all the way down, is the ventilation plate even with the bottom V of the hull?

Hey there I will look tomorrow at the ventilation plate. Someone has installed a lower??? You mean a shower too short? I just took it off to give it a try without it. What is the key hole, sorry for my lack of knowledge! The transom has not been replaced.

1. has it always done this?
2. if not, when did it start?
3. what shape is the prop in? has it ever been dinged and "fixed"?
4. what rpm and speed do you max out with on the 23? (If you are proped right with the mirage, going to a bigger 4 blade will be too much prop)

Might be a dumb question, but your not trying to turn 4K rpms coming out the hole?? I could blow my 25ol out above 3500 coming out hole. I tried to keep rpms at or below 3k on that boat and now my 33ol. A lot of torque, just like peeling out if you try to give her too much!
