Talked to the mechanic that did the last service on the boat. He said that when scanned, the computer spit out an hour value in excess of 250,000 hours. He said that the there is obviously some malfunction with that part of the computer, or somebody intentionally programmed that number into the computer. Looks like this purchase my be mostly based on "gut instinct".

cQUOTE=puzzleboy;4638613]That hour reading means it's memory has been tampered with. That, and a new hourmeter.[/QUOTE]
I cant paste a url because I don't have the required number of posts. If you get a chance, go to the Clarksville, Tn page for Craigslist and search for a yellow Baja Outlaw and tell me what you think.

I was able to track down a previous owner via Facebook. He verified that the boat was all original. He said that neither him, nor the person that he bought it from (who bought it new) put very many hours on it. He said that he had never had any diagnostic checks done to the boat as he never had any reason to do so. Looks like I may have found a rarely used boat with some odd ECM issue regarding stored hours.
Thanks to those who responded and happy boating...………
