I agree with you. I had a 99 272 and now a 02 29 Outlaw, I love them both. I think they ride like a bigger boat in the rougher stuff. Not to start anything, but I've had someone tell me that the Baja is a cheaper boat then Checkmate!! Go figure. Opinions are like *******s, everybody has one (and if you happen to BE one, sorry)

Gottahaveit's got the weight covered. Brochure weight is 4750, but most people insist it's more like about 4900#. I've never weighed-in, though so 4750 it is! Fountains are pretty similar in weight, I guess. But you look at some other boats approaching 30 feet that barely weigh in at 4 grand. The 29 Outlaw for instance, weights like 6800#

Examples:
25 AT=3975 lbs
28 AT=4650 lbs
PQ 260=4200#
Sunsation 288=4500#
Superboat 30'=4500#
Velocity 280=4650 lbs
Velocity VR1=4500 #
Warlock 27=4,000 #

Comparable boats:
Formula 271=5,685 #

You missed on, the 260 Sonic @5,050#. I had one between my 25 and 33. Nice boat, but I preferred (except for the cabin) the 25 Outlaw overall.

You're right, I missed a good one. I like Sonics too!
They're definately comparable and I'm sure their rides are every bit as good.

It was a neat little excercise to look all those up, just to satisfy my own curiosity.

A 33' Outlaw with a pair of 500s layin in the tailend would suit me just fine,BOING!!!!!!

U know I am on my 2nd baja. I have never riden in any other boat but I will tell you what I have put my 25 outlaw thru some **** that would scare most guys and I have never had any problems with it, I will always be a DIEHARD Baja fan,and to those that are talking **** on Baja's KISS MY ASS PRETTY BOY.
