Default Baja Gelcoat colors

Does anyone know how I could tell what color white I have for a 30 outlaw? It's a 2004. I was also wondering about the red as well. The spectrum website is showing ice white and artic white. Are there any old pamphlets around that might show the graphic designs as well as the colors? Or a spec sheet somewhere? I was hoping to buy a paste or gelcoat without having to worry about matching. I did not want to take it to a shop to match it, if I don't have to.

I had to cut out a chunk of fiberglass and send it to spectrum to have it matched, and it didn’t match any factory formulas from Baja. If you do find the factory match it still won’t be perfect with the discoloration and sun exposure from over the years anyways.

15 year old gel coat will not be exactly the same color as when it was new. It will need to be custom tinted.

It's in a spot that is not easily seen, so being a little off is not that big of a deal. I used the patch kit from spectrum on other Bajas I've had and they matched really well. And the boats were pretty old.

The gelcoat for your boat is Ice white. Spectrum has it in ice white paste patch kit or you can get it to spray in larger containers. Most likely you will go through iboats to get the spectrum brand. I've used it many times over the years on boats I've bought and sold. I always compound and polish the boat first so the gel will be a good match to when I'm done wit any repairs.

Thanks Chris! We talked last week about 30 outlaws via facebook. Anyway, it looks like Spectrum only has the red for 2004 in a 1 gallon size. I don't need that much. One patch kit would be fine. It looks like there are patch kits in red from other years, would you know if any of those would match the red from 2004?

I'm not to sure on the shades of red through the years that would be close to yours. I have a few friends who have used mini-craft to match their gelcoat when they couldn't get a small size from spectrum.
