yeah... having a hard time grasping the concept of drilling holes through the hull....but may decide to go that route, idk

So the boat started off with the factory upgraded sound system, that to the best of my memory updated the speakers to components over the standard coaxial, added the 10” subs under the bench seat, added the two amps in the bathroom, and added the two remotes, one at the helm and one at the transom… none the less most of that is all gone.

Started this project with the intent of just updating the race view and basically drop in go7 giving it would fit with out any additional work and minimal mods to the dash add the vessel view link, build a N2K network and be done. and every time I was working on it the project just continued to grow…

Started thinking it would be nice to be able to control the radio through the mfd and upgrade the ability to Bluetooth or airplay to the radio. Since I had to build the N2K network anyways, I ended up adding the fusion ra770 Apollo series head unit. When the boat was built had the radio moved into the cuddy, from experience of somebody always adjusting or leaning against the radio and breaking the side rubbers or knobs that the clarion was infamous for. So apart came the cuddy to figure out how to run cables and take apart as little as possible of the interior.

I have 300 some photos from the entire build of this boat so I had some good hints of how things were routed already, it was just a matter of getting to them in reverse order that the boat was built. So, getting to this pvc pipe was the first key. Pulled the door off completely that was and is being used for an amp rack and had to pull the fridge and open the lower corner of the cabinet to get to the grommet. Used a fish tape to pull the wires through and good to go. Now I was sitting in the boat having a beer and though man I have so much crap apart might as well add the left side mfd right away.decision was made so out came the phone and order placed, and out came the glove box...:ernaehrung004:

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...e134111126.jpgStill don’t have to amps installed but I can get it in the water this weekend hopefully for the first time! I am having issues with the switches maybe you electrical guys can help with...

Got the electric push button switches you see lower right and have them wired so when the battery switch is turned on the ignition buttons light up blue, push the switch and the switch turns red, fuel pumps prime, simrad units power up and the start switches turn blue, all good... when I hit the start switch all I get is a ticking sound (think dead battery click) WTF was my first thought.... some retracing and troubleshooting checking connections, couldn’t get it to work..... Called the manufacturer the next day and I got "well that switch really isn’t designed to be a start switch it probably isn’t passing enough current" well then why the hell did you tell me before I bought them that they will work and why do you sell the engine start icons for them? and his reply was "well maybe they will work if you wire in a relay or something" well I said screw that and put the key switches back in temporarily and everything works fine....

now all I have at the helm is the red hot wire that is hot when the battery switch is turned on, the purple wire that when power is applied turns the fuel pumps on and yellow/red tracer wire that is engine start when power is applied. All small gauge wire at the helm, so obviously that is already powering a relay to turn over the starter when power is applied.

So what is my problem and what is the fix to get the led switches to work? Or won’t they?

Attachment 576821

That is a link to what the switches are. Is the fact they are an electrical switch and not a mechanical switch causing the problem?

This is an extraordinary thread...can't get enough of the pics from the factory. Your attention to detail and level of craftsmanship is amazing.
