29 outlaw single question

I came across a 29 outlaw with a single 500hp in it. My question is how do they perform with a single? Are they a drive killer? What kind of cruising speed and top speed? Is it too much to pull with a newer f150?

I can’t specifically speak to the 29’ Outlaw, but my 272 Islander is about the max that I’m comfortable towing with my 2013 Silverado with the tow package and air bags, and that boat is 4’ shorter than the 29’ OL. If you’re looking for a speed demon then you’re looking at the wrong boat. If you’re looking for a family cruiser then you’re in the right place.

Several single 29's at LOTO. Big Thunder sold quite a few of them. Probably will ride more level than a twin BBC boat. A guy at my condo complex has one and I don't think he has had any drive issues, but he has 454 or 502mpi. I think he runs about 56 mph. I would think top speed with a 500hp would be around 60mph.

You'd have to be much more specific about towing. If I remember right in general an F150 can tow between ~7k and ~12k lbs depending on options. I've towed my 232 with a number of different vehicles, some significantly more capable on paper than others.

I think a 29 Outlaw w/ twins would be a much better decision.

Thinking of coming back to the dark side Tom !!!???

Possibly, but really only looking at big singles. That way when I blow up a bravo I can afford to put an imco on it.

My f150 is a crew cab,6’-6” bed, 4x4, and has the 5.0 V8.

What’s the tow rating?

It largely depends on where you’re going. A few blocks to the marina? The wife’s Tacoma May do the job. Long distance with a mountain pass? Not a lot of fun.
