thinking about...
Ok folks,
Looking for some info., I am thinking about buying a 420 with triple hp500's.
Does anyone own one or been in one?
How do they handle, how fast on 1500hp, etc. etc. etc.
Thanks,
Don B.

Do you have one in mind already? New or used? I've seen one advertised (I think here on OSO) with that set up. The ad said it was built for the CEO of Baja. Check the classifieds here. I think it was like 97 96.

Tank,
I have looked at a couple, national marine has two and I have seen several more in powerboat magazine.
At the moment I am just shopping around, but I have never really heard anything good or bad about the 420 with triple set-up.

Probably because theres just not that many out there. I would think it's just like any other tripple boat....The third motor is extra weight, extra gas, extra maint. Not really worth it. Looks sweet as hell but the negative out weighs the positive.

I rode in a 420 with triple 502's in St. Pete a couple years ago. I asking about the way the boat handled and the guy said hold on and cranked the wheel. It turned like a 25 footer. We were running @ 60 when he did it. Nice boat, xlnt ride.

Tank,
That is my only issue with triples...extra everything. Unfortunately they do not offer the 420 with twins...
Gottahaveit,
The other boat that I have been looking at is the 38 special, but I really want a true 38ft boat.
goob,
I bet the ride is awesome with all that weight, a great boat to take offshore.
Thanks for the comments gents,
Don B.

There is a 420 in Austin that has triple 502's. ITs for sale, the owner claims 70mph. Its a sweet boat. Something that damn big has to ride nice. If you need a comparison he is asking 115 for his. 1996 model.
