Wiring harness was giving me problems on Port. Now it’s not getting full boost, ordered new bypass valve and a coil to see where the problem is. Damn gremlins. Runs great to around 4800 and jumps up on plane like a Biatch!!! Its ridiculous!

Sweet pics! Not fair on the gremlins!

Oh. this is s good one!! After a couple weeks of trying to figure out why I couldnt get over 5k rpms.. I bought another fuel gauge, tied the boat to the dock (lifted the lift so the motor would cavitate) so I could test wot fuel pressure. It spiked to 60psi!! so that was working!

Then I decided to change plugs, even thought I had just done that prior to the NO Start issue.

WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most plugs were barely tight, but at least 2 of them were not seated on the head. No pressure at all to remove!!

So... gremlins resolved. Loose spark plugs!! OMG!!

Was a lil rough to be in the lake testing wot, but I did hit 78 during 1 pass, but I may have been going down wind in 2ft chop. Will finish setting up to find best all around height, but runs Great!
1/2 fuel and just me in boat.

Handles better than the I/O.

also. I need to run this MPG again now that i have full compression, but this is what I had with loose plugs on stb motor
43mph @ 1.69mpg
47mph @ 1.59 mpg
50mph @ 1.53 mpg
55mph @ 1.35mpg.

Ill rerun these speeds once I get the find the perfect height w/ best slip numbers.
Above it was betwen 14 and 16, but I/Os, I could get down to 12.
I also need to figure out the best trim height as it doesnt need a lot of trim with the added leverage of being 3ft back!

Im sure i'll get some video.. Sunday was the first day I really had her running again after chasing the fricken loose plugs for a while.

She definitely runs a lot better AND I can get up on ONE motor if needed. Motor jacked up, a lil tab and took her up nice and easy!!

Overall, it rides a lot better. Im still testing heights with the 23p Rev 4's (bent down from 25p) and I also have some 23.5 Rev4 Xp's to try again, but they dont have the tip cup that the regular Rev4 have and according to merc site, they are for big "stepped".hulls. (so think stern lift)

First couple test runs with the XPs, it was hard to get the bow up and ran really flat... BUT, that could have been me not trimming enough.. its a different animal now!

and she literally JUMPS up on plane with only 3k rpms, but I can push her harder, since I was used to being nice to the B1 lower units!

Cruises nicely at 50, 55 60, and 70 mph!! Obviously, I will not be cruising for long period above 60, but it can!!

Took her out monday with the wife and 1/2 fuel.. She hated the flat (looked like glass) water, not having steps. WOT was only 6100 at 72-73..

78 was 2ft chop and windy!! and probably either cross wind or downwind, I was more worried about holding on b/c I was trying out trim and she started chine walking... LOL.. Yep... definitely had too much trim!!

Boats running Great! Jumps on plane. Cruises nicely between 50 and 70 LOL. At 50, im getting 1.5 or better mpg. Was around 1.3-4 with BBCs.

Swapped back to the 23.5 XP rev 4s. Boat definitely like those better! 4 mph difference. Flat water, 100 degrees, 3/4 fuel and me. 77.8 mph at 6300.
I figure with a light load and chop, she would be close to 80!

Also gelcoated my transom black. Still need to add another coat and sand/buff, but looks great. Added a bimini extension as well.
Platform is at a great height to climb in and hold my ice chest where I can actually look inside!

Can’t believe there’s still so many old school fans who refuse to consider outboards. To each his own.

Your boat looks great and the numbers are excellent. Enjoy. :)

Finally got a video! We were running around 55mph, then saw I was being videoed so I took off! This was running around 75mph! Had to shorten video and crop so it would upload!

Looks like it runs perfectly! Like it's meant to be!
