Default 29OL vs. 302

I just can’t figure out how the 302 has a small swim platform and the cockpit and cabin feel so much bigger. Is it 30’ to the transom or overall?

I believe the 302 counts the built in swim deck in overall length...snip from google below

Baja 29 Outlaw:
  • Size: 29 feet overall length.
  • Speed: Known for high speeds, with some models reaching 100 mph.
  • Engines: Typically powered by twin engines.
  • Features: Features like Captain's Call exhaust (allowing for loud or quiet operation), an aluminum swim platform, and an upgraded stereo system are common.
  • Styling: Known for its aggressive, sporty design.

Baja 302 Performance:
  • Size:
30 feet 6 inches overall length.

It seems to me the closet on both sides in the 29ol cabin is where the space difference is... Dash is moved ~18" rearward, rear bench remains in same place, and cockpit size gets sacrificed. Up front the cabin bench seat length and bed appear to be the same between the two boats, just the 302 doesn't have the closets. Cabin feels bigger on 302 due to a taller deck/ceiling.

The 302 does feel a lot bigger, just slept my family of 6 comfortably on ours last weekend, 2 in cockpit and 4 in cabin (have a Bimini enclosure).
