29 OUTLAW 12-21-2002 06:50 PM

There is no way any boat builder is going to LOWER the price of new boats. If anything, the price of 29’s will hold as-is and the price of 33’s and 36’s will go up. The 30 will sit in the remaining gap. Or perhaps, Baja will do the same thing with the 29 Outlaw as Reggie is doing with the 32 Fever. With the phasing out of the 32 Fever, Reggie is offering killer deals on 32 Fevers. But if you read the fine print, his killer deal is only on 32’s that have twin small blocks. Sounds like lots of smoke and mirrors. I wonder if Baja will offer killer deals on 29 Outlaws with similar smoke and mirrors. Who needs a 32 Fever or a 29 Outlaw with twin small blocks???

I can see the guy now "twin engines and the boat goes 55 holy cow I will tak it" but after one poker run "damn I have the slowest boat here what will it take to get me to 80" after a visit back to the dealer "holw sh&* I guess I should have bought it with big blocks"

you are right Chris, I have went to the north store and looked at there boat inventory, 6.2 and 496mag's are it, they had a guy on the casino run with a 29 with 6.2's in it, I would be mad if I had that boat, my H2x would outrun him, but hey its all in what a person wants, maybe someone out there only wants to cruise!!!!!

29 Outlaw - I have a 1999 29 Outlaw with a single 502 mag in it, 415hp. I love it for me and my wife, granted a part of me wants dual 502's for more control when I dock, but then again another part of me likes of the convienience of one motor (less weight so my existing 8000# hydro hoist picks the boat out fine, less fuel consumption, I only have to winterize one motor, I only have to change oil in one motor, my 1500 Siverado pulls it fine - I don't think it would with twins). Granted, I'm not a speed demon who feels the need to go 75 mph every hour I run the boat, but the boat planes up in a hurry with K planes (less weight) and it has plenty of power. I have not tested the speed of the boat yet (throttle burried) because I bought it late this year and had to winterize. But the two times I took it out prior to winterization I found myself cruising easily at 53 on gps with just over half throttle. I do feel sorry for the guy on the dock two slips down from me who has the same boat with a 454 in it, 330hp, now thats a dog. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

single engine 29's

I first saw a single engine 29 at loto in 1997 and had to do a double take. I wondered who would order one that way. After riding around in the giant washtub wakes it became clear. I assume they cost a bit less than a twin and handle the rough a whole lot better than a 25. Actually I have never seen a single engined 29 anywhere else.;) ;) ;)

Garshev - There are a fair amount of them down there. I know a guy across the cove who is selling one that has a 500hp in it. I almost bought it, but it wasn't as clean as the one I bought. That one pushed 65 easily. My previous boat was a 252 Islander, so you can imagine the difference in the ride now. Maybe I don't know any better, but my 29 sure rides a hell of a lot better that the 252 Islander. I actually aim for waves made by the big cruisers now instead of slowing down and trying to avoid them when I had my Islander.

Are you guys still boating down there?? I hear they have a Christmas parade of boats. If thats true im f@#$%$# jealous!
:D :D :D :D

I'm going down this Thursday and Friday just to get away drink some beer, stare at my boat on the lift and tinker around. I haven't heard about a Christmas parade but that doesn't mean anything. They may have one I don't know. I'm all winterized up and put away, so I'm in the same predicament you are. I know they do have a St. Pats parade of boats in March though. Thats not all that far off, as far as I'm concerned December is over, only about 21/2 to 3 months to go.
