please dont take this wrong.
im not bashing baja's.
i looked at a 95 272 single 454 mag. 180 hrs.
found 2 large cracks one about 5" long and 1/16" wide at the bottom left corner of the cabin door opening.
the other one was half way between the port bolster and the rear bench around the floor area. it was 7" long and 1/8" wide.
just want to know if this is common or if i found one that had the snot beat out of it. my last and first boat was a 1989 28ft webbcraft and it didnt have any cracks except 2 spider ones around the engine hatch.

The door seems like it would just be a gel coat stress crack, I'm not sure about the other one it sounds more serious. The 272's are nice boats and hard to find used. A lot of people that have them, keep them. I had a 252 Islander and liked it a lot, just too small for LOTO, no cracks at all on it and it was a 1996. I just sold it last month.

Last year I was at a boat show looking at a new large boat built by a "Custom Builder" It was covered with stress cracks in the cockpit and cabin liner. I mentioned it to the Blonde Bimbo representing the dealership. She didn't even know what a stress crack was.

I have a 96 272 25th anniversary edition with 250 hrs. no cracks, stress cracks or cracks what so ever. friend of mine bought a new 2001 and it has at or around 100 hrs. and no cracks either. you are not bashing baja. heck, buying a boat isn't cheap. ask away! I would think this 272 is an isolated case. i have not read about "issues" like this with the 272. great boat! love mine. have had plenty of opportunities to go bigger, but i just love this boat! especially the options mine has, very rare to find one like mine!
what is the price of the boat and other options?

I had a 2000 272 with 502 and Stainless exhaust. Loved it! No cracks. Last I heard, Ducky's Boats in PA still has it for sale.
