Don - I'd be more concerned about finding the right boat for you...price/hull/condition...than the distance. My first Baja, a 22 like CFD's, came from Ohio (I'm in Texas). A hundred bucks to have it gone through by a dealer there and a thousand to have it trailered here and two years later I sold the boat for a couple hundred bucks more than I paid, even after a sales commission for my broker. Oh...and I did buy another Baja, a Boss 272, from Dallas this time.
If you find a good boat, find someone you can trust there to check it out. Heck...post something on here and you might even find some guys willing to go take a first look for you and give you an opinion if it's worth paying a shop to look at the boat. Eric |

25 Outlaw
Mine '99 Outlaw is for sale at LOTO due to divorce. Email for details and photos if you're interested ... awesome, clean boat!

I've had both , the 25 is 1 foot longer 2'' wider and 250 pounds heavier. The 25 is about 2 mph faster with the same power and handles a lot better. The 24 is a nice boat that handles rough water well, It was maily the cabin difference and cabin door and cockpit liner that turned me on to the 25. The styling on the 24 is just a little dated imo

Originally posted by Don's Bolt Wow thats a nice motor, if you were closer to me I would have to seriouslly concider yours. Being across the country makes it a little unrealistic. Who makes the blower on your boat, it kinda looks like a whipple, am I right. Come on Don!! A little plane flight and rent a u-haul once you're out here to drag the boat back could result in an awsome boat for you!!!:D :D :D :D |

I love the boat, but I would trade it for a 25 for two reasons.....1.) The handle on the 25 is much superior...2.) the 25 interior is nicer and bigger. I do like the lines on the 24 much better. I am with Tank, I really like the traditional squared off look of the 24. I have mine dialed in just about right and can run without a chine walk at WOT, but you gotta drive it to keep it straight. I would concur that the 25 is 1-2mph faster all things consistent. I will also add in that if you want a TON of boat for 40k, pick up Tank's 24. He has a rockin sound system and about 100 more hp than me. I run about 72-74 (CFD5 was a little low on my #'s) with 520hp and Tank probably sees close to 80 with his 525sc. If you are looking for a 25, I bet you would be hard pressed to find a better 25 than CFD5's. It is/was for sale. The procharger makes that thing run awesome. It runs much more stable than mine....although he is a boob.:D Good luck, hope this helps. A4 |

This is my buddy Johno's 24 Outlaw. I thought I'd post it for him since his lazy ass never brings a camera out with him.:) This picture was taken today. It's the first time I've seen his boat in a couple months. Since then he installed new pads on his swim platform, new lonseal flooring, and hydraulic steering. His boat looked showroom new today. He did a fantastic job on that flooring. Oh yeah, he has an HP 500 sitting in his garage waiting to be installed in it.

He also managed to keep his nickname as the "Sandman" by filling the intakes with it at Shell Island today.:) Oh yeah, before he says anything, I managed to shine my props there today too.:(

Thanks for all the replies
Rough water hadling is very important to me, since I boat in the rough waters of Cape Cod. So it looks like the 25 is a better boat for me. Tank it is to bad you are all the way across the country from me. Cuda you luck dog you, we are getting rain, freezing rain and just plane old crappy weather up here. At least the snow is melting, but we still have about 2 months before it is boating weather. I am going up to Lake Winnapasaki to look at a 25 Outlaw this week, and next week I am going down to Florida to look at a 25 Thunder. So thanks for the info, this is a great board. |
