Pointerman, I never felt that those boats were the prettiest, but I have to say that yours is one to die for.
Absolutely beautiful boat! |
That red is cool, wax on wax off over and over:)
|
Hee hee. Yeah, not looking forward to the cosmetic maintenance, but the look is worth it.
I wasn't planning on buying an outlaw until I saw this one. They all look and perform identical, but when I saw one that was totally different I jumped on it. Thanks for the compliments. |
If your like the rest of us you'll be looking for a bigger one soon!

Here is my Outlaw,
|
Nice boat, who.
I tried to buy a 272 with an identical scheme/colors, but couldn't get it bought. That is one of the prettiest schemes Baja has, IMO> |
That is a nice paint scheme. I like blue a lot. Is that a 25'?
|
Thanks for the complements, yes it is a 25...
|
Make sure you put it up on here if/when you sell it for a bigger boat. :D

Hey inprop,
What speed are you seeing (be honest now) with the 496's and the Bravo 1's |
I see about 45-50 MPH at 3200-3500 rpm. I have never had her wide open. The highest I ran her was about 4000 rpm and that was about 60 MPH and it was total glass, full tank, and a ton of gear.
I am sure I could get more if I trimmed things out better but we typically run in 2-3 ft seas in the bay. I prefer to keep the bow down and the drives in the water. I rather spend money in gas than repairs. |
The 302 can take a pounding. I had six guys in it at last years NYC poker run and ran it to the firewall the entire run - not a single problem.
I'm debating whether or not to exchange my labbed Mirage+ props for Bravo 1s. What size are your props? 24 or 26? |
I believe 26 but really don't know. They are the factor 4 blade props that came with it.

Here's a picture of the dash with all the new gauges. I'm going to get a GPS speedo, and that will do it.
|
Shooter, that thing looks good.
Inpropsicated, nice grahics and welcome to the board. Steel, I like. The 25 OL is my favorite helm, clean lines and perfectly functional. |
Steelware,
Looking good!! Hey that steering wheel looks familiar, updates it a bit. I was going to add the polished bezels to my guages but they installed a couple of them to close and it just won't work. Seen any better speeds with the Whipple yet? |

Come on. It's almost spring time. Gotta be some new Bajas out there! |
Cory,
I actually had to trim a couple of the bezels myself. There's nothing a Dremel tool won't fix. I went out twice this past weekend and tried some different props. On Friday I tried a 26p Bravo One and if I remember correctly it did 71 at 5200 rpm and climbimg so I backed off of it. Then Saturday I got my prop back from Darin, which is a 27p Mirage Plus with the accelerator design and it really worked great. It was very windy Saturday but I got to 72+ @ 4700 rpm with more throttle left. It was so windy that it started feeling a little light so I stop right there. I have about 4 weeks to get everything dialed in before we do coastal trip. I want to try two more props, one is a 27p Mirage also but it has been labbed a different way, and the other is a new Hydromotive Quad IV-X which is supposed to be very fast. |
skygod, thanks for the welcome.

Thanx Jeff
I noticed a LITTLE whipple action. Let me ask, how was the install? I'm thinking about adding a little h.p. . I have the 496 mags. My only concern is the lack of space in my engine compartment. |
I actually saw a whipple installed on a sunsation with 496's. It did not take up much room and was a very clean install. He had bravo 1 drives and the 650 HP that it produce was beyond what standard bravo 1 could handle.
|
It is very tight on the 25 Outlaw. The new style Whipples do not take up anymore room than the stock intake from what I hear.
