Cabin Headroom on 38 Special???
I have been looking around at a couple of 38 special's and really like the way the boat is laid out!! The U-shaped seating and fridge in the cockpit are pretty darn cool. Plus the option to have A/C, Gen, TV, etc. in the cabin would be great since we now have a little one!!
But I do have a couple of questions on the 38 specials...
What is the Cabin Headroom?
What kind of speed with 454efi's and 502 efi's??
Does anyone trailer one of these??
Can you run the A/C without the gen off of battery power?
Am I going to beat it to death if I ever want to do a Big Water Poker Run??
It looks to me like the 38 special is practally a sport cruiser that you can still tow if you wanted to!!

Funhome,
I don't have any numbers for you, but I was inside a .38 at the boat show. I'm 6'2" and I only had to slightly duck my head to walk around in there. When sitting, there was a ton of room, of course. I agree it's a goergeous boat and the interior is awesome; It's intelligently laid out, as you mentioned.

I own a 38 Special and it has 6 feet of headroom when you first step down in the cabin. I have 496 HO's in mine and 67 on GPS is all it will do. We have 2 kids and have stayed on the boat for a week at a time. It has been a wonderful boat but is a little slow for Poker Runs. It takes rough water well and fuel range is awesome compared to most other boats. Would definitely recommend the 38 Special.
