Thumbs up Pro Charger vs Warranty

I know some of you are running pro chargers. I was wondering - gets me in trouble usually - if I installed a pro charger on my 496 that is under warranty would the installation void the warranty? What if it were installed by a mercruiser dealer? If anyone has done this or has info please let me know.

Thanks

.........Yes,
At least anything related, engine failure wise.

Yes it will void the warranty. I have about 30 hours on mine and love it! I was running 67-68 gps and now run 75 gps. (best of 77 gps) It has a labbed 27 mirage+ and could see more with some prop tweeking. I only have the 3.5lb kit but might put on the 5lb kit if it does not sell soon. Should see about 80.

CFD5 Do you have a pro charger for sale? Did you have any trouble installing it and getting it tuned with the ecu?

No, mine is on my boat. The boat is for sale. I had it prof. installed but was there and helped with the install. Seemed pretty straight foward, just follow the instructions that come with it. No ecu tuning, 3.5lb is just teasing it as Merlin540 would say. I would have no problem putting on the 5lb kit, mine has been trouble free. Whipple has the only ecu program and you might want to think about it, just to get rid of the black soot on the transom. But personally I would rather have to clean the soot, than have to rebuild because of a lean condition.

Lean is not good for sure. If you ever run across a pro charger for sale let me know.

Thanks
