Check out this link. The Honda EU2000 looks like the ticket. Use it anywhere, any time. Plan to anchor out, just put it in the boat, when anchored strap it to the swim platform, plug in the shorepower and chill!!!:D |
Hey Dock,
Just to let you know a friend of mine has a 2000 and 3000 watt inverter generators you looked at. When the things are running you can stand right next to them and talk normal. They are unbeleivably quiet. they are alse light in weight. The 2000 should work for anything you need. Not sure how big your house furnace is but maybe the 3000 would run it if you ever have anothe ice storm. Mike |
Dock,
It weighs 46 lbs and I use the Marinco 20 amp adapter on my shore power cable. West or Boat US stocks them. For OSO'ers I will sell them for $850.00 which includes shipping. No tax for out-of-state purchasers. Let me know if you have any other questions. Keith |

Should there be a concern with the exhaust on the portable unit on the swim platform? Just wondering.

Keith,
Thanks very much for the quick service and great price. Very nice doing business with you. I look forward to trying the generator out this weekend and will let everyone know how it works out. I will call you when we plan to be down in your area! Baja342, The exhaust is always a factor regardless of where you mount a generator. The Honda seems to be pretty clean running and the exhaust will be farther away than on norman permanent applications although a little higher. "SAFETY FIRST". My CM senser works GREAT, I will test it again and keep a close eye on things. We also do not plan to raft up close to anyone. Thanks |
Now you can be cool also. That sounds like it will work out great. Good luck.

Mark,
That was alway a concern or thought. Post some facts after you get yours and use it. I am very interested in how you make out. Frank |
Dock,
Thanks for the kind words. UPS just picked up your package. I look forward to hearing what you think after using it this weekend! Let me know when you get down this way so we can hook up! Always love to hook up with fellow boaters (preferrably Baja owners)! Keith |
How do you plan to exhaust the generator? My Westerbeke exhausts through a large muffler just outside the hush box, then through about 6' of marine exhaust hose to the transome. It then exits with a Salisbury flap. This setup uses water for cooling the exhaust as well as the heat exchanger for the engine.
