I have 454 mags and 25 mirages worked by chad hill, I can only get 4600 rpm out of them. Haven't tried anything else yet. I throttle to about 2200 rpm and wait for them to grab and then I can hit it, otherwise they will let go with to much throttle out of the hole. I wonder if labbed 24's or 26's would be better. Don't want to lose top end though.

Running 4 blade props on a 29 Outlaw does not guarantee blow-out free take offs. I had no trouble blowing out the 26” 4 blades that I tried. In fact, they blew-out about the same as the 25” 3 blades did. The 27” 3 blades I have now will still blow out but not as bad as the 25’s or 26’s did.

I switched from 25's to labbed 26's and kept the same rpm's, however as I said, just around 4500. and getting 68 to 69. The blow out issue is gone and while I'm still working on why i can't get the RPM's to where i want, the bottom end is completely better. Quick takeoffs, no blowout, great cruising and planing. If anyone want my brand new 25's, i'd be glad to sell them

I know. I just can't figure it out. The motors have great compression 150 in each cylinder and for the life of me i can't figure out why i can't turn more than 4500 rpm, very frustrating. The x dimension seems fine, it's coservative at 7" but that's what Baja set all theirs at, so there is nothing different there. Help

Outlaw 1971 check everything over on your engines. Do a complete tune up and maybe try the RPM kits (air filter, msd & computer tunning) by CP Performance about 750 each and you should notice a gain from that.

I just had a complete 100 hour service done on it so that should be all good. I thought about the RPM kits from arizona speed and marine or cp performance, but theses 502's should turn 5000rpm on their own before any other upgrades. I need to figure out the root of this before I keep throwing more money at it.

Hey Jt what are yours the EFI or Bulldog HP's? Did you try the 30's before labbing? What RPM are you getting now, and what before the labbing?
HP500 bulldogs are 540 c/i.
I bought the 30's labbed from
mercury ( I tried a set off of a freinds
boat, found out I could turn them, so
bought a set)
It will turn between 5100-5300
depending on conditions.
