tssteph, congrats on your purchase! Some very good friends of ours have a P29 Scarab and are very happy with their boat. And...it's a good looking boat!

At the end of the day, all that matters is:

1. You wanted a boat.
2. You bought a boat.
3. You will be on the water enjoying life, which will make...
4. You happy

Frankly, I don't like when people say "well, all I've got is..." IT DOESN'T MATTER! All that matters is whether or not you are out there experiencing life, enjoying life and having fun. Very few of us have the money to go buy exactly what we want (I know we don't).

As for bashers....it's best to ignore them. Not that I want to start the mini argument back up again, but Dock and Team Baja are right. Most bashers are miserable little trolls with no life. They're jealous and insecure beyond belief and constantly need to knock people down to make them feel better about whatever their situation in life is. They're simpletons at best, and never quite understand how their attitude was probably the catalyst that brought them to this point in their lives.

And that paragraph is not directed at any one person or any one thread...I have not been to the Scarab board...pretty much just stick with the Baja board. I like the people here. :)

I guess I say that sometimes. It might be my way of avoiding someones bashing of the smaller, slower boat.

It just burns me up when guys dont even have a boat, then want to talk sh*t. Like, "when I get a boat, its gonna be a 51 Outerlimits". Yeah right, as soon as you get your raise at McDonalds!

Team Baja,

Now that you have a new job are you going to keep it, get rid of it, or upgrade?

I've noted that most people with jobs similar to yours don't have one (seriously)

It looks like I may be late going in the water this year unless I bust my rear in the spring.

I think I'll keep it at least one more season. The plan is to upgrade over the next few years, by getting something newer/bigger each time. But, I want to keep em paid for, so it will be a challenge.

I got a NEW shirt!

I hear you TeamBaja on the avoidance of the bashing, but the fact of the matter is there is always someone with a bigger, faster boat - no matter who you are. And who is going to bash you anyway? Nobody worth knowing...and they'll eat their words with the faster boat that comes along in 20 minutes anyway.

You've seen our boat (obviously). We spend the majority of the summer with our friend with the P29 and others. Ours is among the smaller boats out there with us. Never has anyone had the attitude of "we're better than you". That's just not what "normal" people do. Be proud of what you have, you've worked hard for it. Set your sights on whatever you're getting next, and take the appropriate steps to get there. Sure, I'll never own a 50' speed demon, but that doesn't mean I won't be having fun every step of the way.

Screw the rest of them. ;)

TB, love the shirt.

Going to Miami by chance?

I think I've met all your friends and seen your boat, no Team Baja though.

Thanks again for the reference again to Kevin SPECTACULAR work. He seem to know your brother well from the old days.

I was talking to Kevin's wife. She says your brother is a die hard boater (like you).

I invited him and his family up for a ride. Can you believe his daughter has never ridden on a go fast.

I said I'd let my daughter drive to assure a smooth ride.

Of course you, Just Once, Formula31, Captian Blondee, Thrillseeker and the rest of the Kelly's gang are invited.

I agree with all of you that bashing is BS if your lucky enough to have a boat be proud of it.

i don't mind the bashing on here as much because it seems to me like the ford vs chevy vs dodge thing.

What really p@ss#s me off is when it happens on the water.

Last year I pulled into Put-in-Bay island in lake erie and there were only two spots left. One was next to a new 36 cigarette gladiator and the other was a 44 sunseeker. I have a baja 302. Ne-way I tried to pull in next to the cigarette becuase it matched up better to tie off and the guy had a fit, He said there was no way i was parking my baja POS next to his boat. So I left and parked next to the 44. Those guys not only welcome me but they begged me to take them and all of there girls for rides. Of course I obliged. you should have seen the look on cigarette boys face when i strolled past him in the harbor with 6 hotties in bikinis while he was there stroking it with his boyfriend.

That cig may be fast and pretty but ther only thing it got him that night was a sore forarm and and empty wallet

That's why I go to kelly's, great dock mates, everyone rafts, dosn't cost a mint.

The dock master controls it there and has experienced crew who can really get them packed in.

PIB crew sucks, they stand there with their pad and wait for you to tie up so they can charge $2/ft.

I think this would be a great idea. We live in MN and LOTO would be a great choice for us. It still would be quite a haul (12-13 hours), but would go to meet all the other OSO'ers. We own a 1999 29' Outlaw.
