BAJA Photos .......... A look into the past

Here is a few of our current Baja a 1988 280 Force AKA Liquid Force. We just finally decided on a name for it. Plus have big plans for this baby, gonna keep her for a while.
If I ever have the means and can find one at the price I can afford. I really want a 370 with the radar arch. THere was on at the marina when I worked there, and I loved that boat.

260 is a nice lake boat. Huge cockpit for the size. The 454 will have it in the mid 50's. It's only a 21 degree deadrise so it is a bit rough compared to a 24 degree.
I loved mine, just needed a bigger boat for Lake Michigan.

'87 174 Sunsport basket case project. This boat got no love for quite a while. Sat outside down the street from me for about the last 7 years with the bow in the air to let the water drain. Gelcoat is chalk. 175hp 4.3 supposedly ran good but is seized from sitting. What's left of the interior? Not much. Seats had trees starting to grow in them and passenger bucket is missing. Stringers and transom are solid, floor is solid everywhere except around ski locker which has a small weak spot and will need a little surgery to get back in shape.

Wet sanded and buffed out "test" area. I had decided to re-gel and go with a cream color bottom and tangerine metallic with huge chunks of glitter in it for that '70s-'80s look. My younger brother has a body shop and talked me into wet sanding and buffing. Might stick with the original after some elbow grease. It will eventually get either a rebuilt hopped up 4.3 or a mild small block, and I'm also going to mount a wake tower on it. (all this between working on the Stinger) When I get some more pics and get further along I may start a new thread for it. After sitting outside and being neglected for all those years, I put a battery in it and all the electricals still work except for one light in the end of a toggle switch.
