The sub in my cabin does the job fine but it would never hurt to have a little more bass coming from the bench seat - the chicks seem to like it there! :D Do you get any unwanted rattles or vibrations from having the subs under the bench? |

Frankly, I bought the boat this way.
I personally would not have done this type of mount on the on set. I compared my 600 watt (300 each overrated) to some much larger systems. My system was much better. The cabin acts as a huge bass chamber you can really feel. Any loose items (floor boards etc) will vibrate. I found myself chasing these vibrations. You can actually see the water ripple as you crank it up. This truly prooves its not the "size" of the systems that matters it's the "magic" of the intallation. :D The absolute worst thing you can do is place the woofer in free air. Read the info on your speaker before you by it. Some react better in some enviroments than others. If you do not want to do much cutting or fabricating then I suggest a band pass box. this would be resistant to environment issues yet still give the punch you need.
