I am in the market for a used 25 outlaw and was wondering what the best engine option is for this boat? Also what kind of top speed dot they run? Thanks for any replys.

my 24' 97 outlaw w/ purple splash graphics is for sale. 525sc motor w/chiller msd ignition gil dry exhaust wpm twin ram hydro external steering, sea strainer built w/all the right stuff. 70 hrs on turnkey motor. new twin axle trailer custom painted to match boat, big stereo. 20k in motor/trailer in 2003. asking 40k....It's all you!!

What years are you looking at?I had a 98 with a 454 mag in it and it ran great,I wouldn't buy one with any less motor than that,if you're looking at a newer one get at least a 496 mag, don't dink around with a small block.Expect speeds with a 502,454 mag or the two 496 options to be in the 64-70mph range.

we have a 2000 25 outlaw with a 502 mag. With it stock except for a labbed prop we see 66 with a full tank of gas and 5 peope. With a 1/4 tank of gas and 2 people we see 68mph on the gps. I am alway looking for ways to keep the reliability and hit 70 mph with full tank of gas and full load. love our outlaw.

There was a 2000 25outlaw on boattrader i found the other day for a real good price. Let me find it and I'll post.

We have a 2002 25 Outlaw with the 496 HO Mag and love it. It is all stock (for now) and we have a labbed 23p mirage and get 67.3 on the GPS. Boat runs great and is very reliable. If you get one you will love it. I have the prop at Houston prop right now being worked on in hopes of getting a little closer to that magical 70 mark!

I've got an 04 25 Outlaw with the 496 HO. I would not have purchased this boat with any less power. Either the 496 HO or the 502 depending on the year of the boat are good options and fairly common. Shouldn't be hard to find a used Outlaw with that power.

now I know what your thinking......only has a 454\310hp motor......true, but use the $$ you saved and mod the engine a little. That is a good deal though.

Thanks 97BossHammer I will look into it, As far as the year, i would like to find a 99- 02 for best price. Also does anyone know what a 25 with the 496 ho and a supercharger would run? That would be my only mod to the boat. Thanks again
