The Mercury Racing HP500 was offered as an option with the 24 Outlaw back in 1996, but I think if you got the HP500, you also got hydraulic external steering and true K-planes. If this boat has neither of these, the HP500 probably didn't come as original equipment.
If it is in fact a Mercury HP500 and still has the original Gil exhaust, count on the exhaust needing replaced at the very least.

Its not an outlaw, but I will be selling my 1993 272 Shooter very shortly. It has a Merlin (Bill Mitchell) 540 ci normally aspired dynoed at 625 hp (@45 hours), bravo I, K planes, 1996 Boss dash panels with gaffrig guages and a bunch of other goodies. The boat has 2 props, a 4 blade (74-76 mph cruise at 60 mph) and a 3 blade lab finish (76-78 cruise at 45). I also have a galvinized roller trailer. The rear bench needs to be re-vyniled and there are some other cosmetic issues. I'm looking to move up to a 36 and looking to move the boat for about $20k.
