Okay, here they are.
The first shot is two days before we pulled them out of the boat last December. Second shot is last week, the Starboard engine is back in the boat. Third picture is the Port engines ready to go back in. Actually it is in the boat now. We are waiting on the new tail pipes from CMI which should be here next week, then we can put some props on her and see what happens. The motors look completely stock. The changes we made we all internal. |

Re: imco shortie
Well, went out on sunday with a set of 30 pitch bravo's turned
them 5100 but no speed 72mph (whats that a 22% slip) not good julie does not think the 5 blades are going to help me or a 1/2 inch spacer she thinks i should put the old units back on and try that.there is no hook in the bottom of the boat so i really don't know what to think!!!!!!! |
Re: imco shortie
Baja, you are having the same bad luck a buddy of mine is having with his 31 Bullet.
He has some blower motors putting out 800 HP per side and the bullet has hit a top speed of 86 on the GPS with standard Bravo drives. He has had a lot of drive problems lately and got a chance to try before he buys, a couple of IMCO shorties. At first he could NOT get the boat on plane. Then he borrowed some 5 blades and reversed the rotation and managed to get on plane and make it through a poker run. I spoke to him last Thursday and he has played with several props and the best speed he can get is 75 MPH. He has lost over 10 MPH. We have concluded that true deep vees are not good candidates for the shorties. He is going to pass on the IMCO's and go with some standard XR's. Guess you better get them spaced back to normal. Very sorry to hear this, I was hoping they were going to work well and show some performance increases. Thanks for keeping us up to date. Doc |

The boat is running very good, but have only been able to run it with my 26 pitch props. I have some 28's being shipped up to me from a buddy in Jacksonville to try next week, and I also hope to fine a pair of 30's to try also. She is definately under proped at this point! The mid range is awesome and we sill see what happens with the top end when I get the props in. Will keep you posted. |
