...stumbled across these pics of some friends of my parent's 24. They live in Fisher Island in Miami and kept this boat there in the 80's but sold it years ago. Anyone seen this boat in FL or anywhere else? I believe it was #24 or 25. Thanks.

Hello Evan,
Welcome to the Banana Forum.
If you could get the serial number off upper starboard side of the transom, then you could get a lot more history on the boat.
Top Banana built your boat if it is a 1978. TB or Chatim Racing can tell you more.
Where is it located?

Hi Evan:
I think that's boat #14 in San Fran CA - right? If that's it, the boat and trim tabs look good - not sure what condition those motors are in though? My advice would be to get rid of those engines and buy a new single 300 - that thing will fly...

Not trying to start an argument or anythig. But do you really think a single 300 is enough? I'm still torn as far as getting a 300 v8 or getting another 225 and making a pair. not doing it soon nless a killer deal comes my way but sometime in the future.
I figured out why I liked that back seats wrap around style. Its very similar to mine!

Adam,
For 4 years I have been buying little pieces and parts, (steering and rigging stuff), to go to twins on my Banana.
I never thought I would want to go single 300.
After reviewing the performance numbers with MrV8outboard who had a lot of experience with single V8 OMC's, it was very clear to me that you get the same speeds as twin 200s (just over 70mph), but with 25% less fuel burn and half the maintanence.
I am not swayed easily, but I was in this case.
With that being said, I havent mounted the engine yet so I'll get back to you.

Thats about what I thought. I would still love to go to a V8. Just depends on whats available when I get around to it.
On to another subjet though. I noticed an '88 Banana in last weeks Want Ads for $8500. Twin Mercs. If Heatbuzz is interested. Its in Epping. Do you guys know it? If not I'll try and get some pics from the guy selling it as he has an email adress listed for pics.

Already called the guy.
He used to live in Epping. He now lives in Litchfield. The Banana for sale is the same boat that my brother was to buy, but the guy upped his price.
I told him that I owned two Banana's and was calling on behalf of my brother who was looking for one.
Here is the interesting part. I asked him how the boat ran, and he said that when he de-winterized it, he did a compression check and he has a bad cylinder on one engine and it is not something easy like a head gasket.
Guess somebody was looking out for my brother because had HeatBuzz bought it, he would have most likely found out after the sale was done that the motor was no good......
Thanks for the tip though Fruitta...
